Very interesting introduction. Welcome! :)

Welcome fellow Keyblade Wielder! I read your entire post and I think I understand you. There's nothing wrong you or anybody else, people should be who they are and embrace their true selves. There's nothing wrong playing video games because I play video games because one, is fun and I enjoyed it and two, I play video games to relieve my stress. And there's nothing wrong with writing as well, as a matter of fact I think writing is a good way to calm yourself because if you put your stress and emotions when writing a story you might fell a lot better, well I think so I don't know if everyone thinks the same. Anyway I'm also in college and is nice to find people who you can connect with and understand each other.

I hope "interesting" is a good thing, haha. It's just very hard to understand who I am as a person and why I act the way I do without hearing my backstory, so...this post happened. :D

Thanks! College is the best. In high school people were afraid to be who they were because of their peers, but in college everyone is free from those concerns and you get a sense of who they really are. I love it.

It is a good thing indeed. Having a good look to someone's story is something I enjoy a lot, it makes me understand the person a little more.

Welcome to KH13! That all sounds like it's been pretty rough, glad you're doing better now! Believe it or not, KH also helped pull me out of depression, though it was at a younger age. I am actually only 17 right now, but back in 8th grade I fell into such a funk I completely gave up. However, one summer I finally played KH, though I was a bit reluctant first since I played a demo from Dream Drop Distance and didn't like it, and also got annoyed because all of my friends kept talking about KH and I didn't see the appeal, but then I actually bought DDD anyway (games were one of the few things that distracted me from feeling awful, and I figured a new series would give me another jolt since even games were starting to get null). I ended up loving DDD and bought a bunch of other games in the series, and soon after I eventually began to feel better and better, and many of the plotlines and characters in the series have helped me out too. Also similarly, my family isn't too keen on my interests either, sadly. I'm always subtly and sometimes unsubtly judged by them for my interests too, but I've never had it that bad. Anyway, I'm glad the series has had such a good impact on you. Always be true to yourself, there's nothing wrong with enjoying anything at any given age.

I'm glad Kingdom Hearts helped you in life and brought you here. I'm Geralt. I hope you enjoy it here, and I look forward to seeing you around the forums!

Welcome to KH13.com, I hope you enjoy your time here :D

My name is Alison! I'm 19 years old, currently a freshman at BYU-Idaho. I play Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, and Uncharted. I love Yu-Gi-Oh, specifically Arc-V. I like to play the piano, write fanfictions and my novel, bake, and be with animals. Kingdom Hearts is my life. I've been with the series for a little under two years now. It has taught me so much and it actually came to me when I really needed it in life, pulling me out of depression and helping me love myself for who I am. My mom doesn't like who I am as a person, so a few years ago she prohibited me from my video games and writing to make me "grow up" and "live in the real world". Over the years I lost my sense of self as I tried out different personalities to try pleasing her, to no avail, because acting how she wanted cut back on our fighting. But I wasn't happy, and I wasn't myself. I felt like a robot, living life without vigor and just making it through each day in hopes that things would get better. I was numb. I put up walls around my heart to avoid being hurt. I grew painfully shy and scared of social interaction, in part because of the verbal abuse my father went through. I just wanted to be invisible and left alone. I didn't have friends in high school, and I even lost my connection to certain happier emotions. I was very depressed with low self-esteem, and I never felt truly alive. On top of all these issues I struggled with school because I was unknowingly fighting a strong case of ADD, which I got diagnosed with only a week ago. The bad grades made me feel even worse about myself. I found KH through my only friend when I was 17, and I played it at his house all the time. It brought me joy, and through different characters I literally relearned certain emotions I hadn't been feeling lately. It thawed my heart. Kingdom Hearts helped unearth my true personality again, and it taught me to be who I am and not be manipulated. I recently started defending myself to my parents and openly embracing who I am. My mom still hates that I'm a gamer (she has an irrational hatred of video games) but I know how to properly defend myself now, and our fights over my personality don't affect me much anymore. Now that I'm at college, I get to be who I truly am, and I've never been happier. I freely play Kingdom Hearts all the time now. I write, watch Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V, and draw--all things I haven't been able to freely do in life before January of this year when I came to college. I'm the happiest I've ever been since age 10, when my brother's death caused my parents to turn crazy.  It's a long post, so I'm sorry. It's my inner writer shining through. :) I really love sharing my KH story because it shows how powerful the series can be. I have such an emotional connection to it. Like Ventus, I lost a part of my heart earlier in life, only I lost my light. Kingdom Hearts helped me regain that light. :) I look forward to meeting all of you in this community. Here's a picture of me if any of you are curious! https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AlisonClaires/posts/azHNwCYs4cf?pid=6162364166628171282&oid=104074699720359062779&authkey=CKP5_7ne7OOgYQ

I was so worried about the long post. :) But people seem cool with it. Usually I don't say much about myself, but I just love telling my KH story. It changed my life. I like showing people how powerful this series can be through my story. My story has really shaped who I am as a person, and this post explains a lot about the way I act to the friends I will make on this site. Thank you very much for the greeting!

Welcome! I am KingdomHearts3. I was just shown at E3 2015. I am also the Dragon Guardian of Kingdom Hearts. Should you decide to be one, petition me and I will consider.

I love the fact that Kingdom Hearts influences so many lives. I'm happy to hear that it's changed your life. Welcome to the site!

Wow, now that was an amazing story!  I'm so sorry you had to go through all those ordeals in your life, but thanks to Kingdom Hearts, you were able to overcome those trials and accept yourself for who you are, and that's the most important thing here!  Hehe, you really seem like a very nice, open-minded and thoughtful person, and I'm glad to say: Welcome to KH13! :D

I'm pretty sure you've already been enjoying your time in this site, so I hope you continue to keep on enjoying everything that the site has to offer!  Relax and be yourself, and don't change your personality for anyone, because the day you change yourself, you aren't you anymore, but I don't have to say that, since you already realized that on your own.  Never give up on yourself, and keep on going through this life! :D  So yeah, enjoy this site and all its awesomeness! :3

Now then, as with all newcomers, my pet bunny here shall take your soul! :3
