You know, for all the voting I and everyone did for Sora and Solid Snake, I never even once considered the possibility of Cloud getting in, let alone anyone from Final Fantasy...good thing VII was on a Nintendo system, lol!  "

 

And a December event? Could this be where they will announce the winners of the Smash poll...?   :huh:

 

Still, with a Square Enix character in there, that means Sora's chances of getting in there are looking 50% more positive...the other 50% depending on Disney, which IS the toughest nut to crack unfortunately. So still a rough road ahead for anyone hoping to see him in there unfortunately. But who knows, stranger miracles have happened....like this for instance!

 

Man, I know who I'm maining now, but my mind will be so confused trying to go back into Dissidia mode that I might be a bit flimsy with Cloud the first few matches. But with any character I'm in love with, I'll get the hang of it eventually. Now I can add Cloud to my dream team roster. So far that's Sonic, Captain Falcon, Cloud, Snake (if he comes back), and hopefully one day Sora....one day Disney and Nintendo....one day..........

Can I just say that was YEARS AGO and Disney probably never even considered the idea that their characters would be fighting each other anyway in Kingdom Hearts! And you never know, sometimes minds change over time. Disney never considered doing a lot of what they do these days, and now they're practically doing everything. At this stage, they might find that it might be a better investment to diversify it's brand and image rather than stay so squeaky-clean and safe about it. Also, it's only Sora fighting against other game characters, no other Disney IP whatsoever. I fail to see how that logic can be applied when they're clearly fine with Sora getting the snot beaten out of him whenever he has to face other non-Disney characters, or even Final Fantasy characters, and only ONE of whom is an actual villain. Sora could very well be a flexible loophole to that whole issue, so long as they recognize and use him as such, they would be able to garner much more brand exposure. I mean, yeah it's not like they don't have enough of that already, but when has that ever stopped them anyway?

Yup. ANd an amiibo version of him seems very likely. But when it gets released it's gonna be chaos out there since Amiibo is very popular lol.

I'm pretty sure Cloud will have his English voice when he becomes available for purchase.

An amiibo will definitely happen. Every Smash character's going to get him. Improved amiibo stock should mean it won't be too tough to get him.

Am I the only one who's not surprised to see that Cloud made it in?  I mean, I guess I figured it was only a matter of time before Smash decided to add an SE character, and Cloud and/or Sephiroth were the obvious choices; they are SE's most iconic characters after all (except for maybe the Slime, but that's only in Japan and I don't really see how you could have it be playable in Smash...)  In fact, I'm thinking they'll probably add in Sephiroth now too.

 

It seems that I'm also the only one who thinks that Sora has an even lesser chance of making it in.  Again, if Smash adds another SE character, it'll most likely be Sephiroth.  And I highly doubt that Smash will have three SE playable characters.

Their characters. Square has said before they don't stop them when it comes to the original characters. Sora and everyone can fight but they don't like the idea of dolan n mickey, etc fighting pointlessly

When I saw his reveal trailer, a big, goofy grin spread through my whole face! Wow, I did not see that coming!

 

HOLY GUACAMOLES, THAT MEANS THAT SORA COULD HAVE A CHANCE OF BEING IN SMASH STILL!!! HE HAS TO!!! CLOUD NEVER APPEARED IN A NINTENDO CONSOLE!!! (Unless Theathrythm counts?) SO SORA, WHO HAS APPEARED ON NINTENDO CONSOLES OFTEN, MUST APPEAR IN SMASH!!!! D:

I wish I played Smash so I can fangirl over this. Unfortunately, I do not play Smash so I'm mainly just worried how much of the community are gonna rage about "OMG get that emo FFVII shit out of our Nintendo!" Okay, that's probably just me giving the Smash fans little faith (I'm not a part of it, after all), but at least the reception here is positive.

 

But I did enjoy all the little references in the trailer. And hey, if they make an Amiibo out of him then I'd totally get it, if only to get a cheap and easily-obtainable Cloud figurine.

Well... I'd much rather Sora or Riku be the added character, but of all the characters that are in Kingdom Hearts that are from other franchises, Cloud or Leon would be my choices, I think Sephiroth would be cool, but I think his super long sword would be super cheap like Meta Knight was in Brawl

Nintendo said that all Super Smash Bros 4 Characters will be made into Amiibos, even the DLC characters 

Neat.

This is just further proof that we are all living in the Matrix, nothing this incredible could happen in a real world

Probably will happen, seeing as how when Shulk was revealed, a lot of people said things along the lines of "Ew, is that some Final Fantasy character?"

 

Smash community also seems to have a thing against sword fighters. They say there are too many, but there are also plenty of gunners and brawlers. The Smash community can be pretty dumb sometimes.
