FINAL FANTASY VII EPISODES WILL EACH BE THE SIZE OF A FULL GAME!

Featured Replies

I sure hope they're as long as a game! Otherwise I wouldn't get the point of deviding them into seperate games.

Then 30 bucks each episode and thats absurd, or even more

i don't think it will be more than $30, plus (lets just say 3 parts since the original had 3 dices) $90 for one of the biggest games ever made is....pretty good. now if it was 50 bucks then yeah.

Well, that's good news. At least it won't be in short episodes like we originally thought.

EDIT: I'm a lot more excited now that they've clarified that each part is a full game in Final Fantasy standards! How long will each game be?! I can't wait to see what Square has in store! :)

How is 30 bucks absurd? If it's the size of a full game, 30 bucks is rather cheap in comparison to the 60-70 you usually pay.People should not forget that this is not a HD Remaster like with the Kingdom Hearts Remixes. Of course the story is somewhat set, but other than that, they'll have to redo the entire game because the old models are basically useless. With the new gameplay mechanics added as well, I think it is a fairly good price. They'll be working for quite awhile on it unlike the previous HD Remaster games. It is, after all, an actual remake.

So we'll probably be paying 2-3 times the price that the game should be in the end. This is just a cheap cash-grab with no excuse to split the game into multiple releases.

Mind = Blown! This is great news! I am really looking forward to this remake! OMG!!!

Final Fantasy VII Episode 3 confirmed!

The size of 3 full games packed into one sounds like a huge bundle.

... Buuuuut that would mean each episode would have to be around 20 dollars and... yeah, no.

30 bucks for probably three episodes, and that won't even cover the story in each episode, it will mostly be filler stuff if i'm gonna be honest. and all together it will be like more than a retail price to those who buy the episodes around their release times

Full sized games? So, the first episode should be the entirety of FFVII then? Because what's a full sized game exactly?

Sounds like a very good choice of words to calm people down.

If the episodes are going to be the same size as a full game, I no longer see the reason to be upset considering the episodes are likely to be about a half-year or year apart from each other. Plus, we don't even know the price tag yet. If it were $40 an episode, I guess I can see people getting upset.

However, if most of the content in the episodes is filler, I can see this being a problem.

Calm down people, the original was divided into 3 disks wasn't it? And from what I've read it seems like theyre adding more to make this version even bigger. The maps are going to be a lot bigger too, to be on-par with the scale of modern environments, it makes sense they'd have to break it up. The original would be small enough to fit on one Blu-ray now, but this isn't the original, it's going to have a lot more data becuse of the larger maps, voice acting, HD modles, etc. so they have to divide itds

FFVII, was a huge game, much larger than others of it's type back in the day, because they're remaking that game with modern standards this too will be much larger than most game this day and age and even dual-layer Blu-Ray disks have a limit to how much data they can hold.

Then put it into three discs, just like they did in 1997.

No offense, but the retail is full of games which are thrown onto the market in an incomplete state and then are either patched beyond recognition or you have to buy half the story via DLCs, expansion packs, add-ons and what else not. I have nothing against patches or glitches because the creators have to deliver because it's expensive but realistically speaking, quite a few games aren't even complete and will cost more than 90 bucks in total if gamers were to purchase everything necessary.Final Fantasy was never a zame with a lot of DLCs which were absolutely necessary and I am willing to pay 90 Euro if it's complete.I hardly doubt that it's just gonna be filler stuff but rather that it will be like the original which was divided into three discs. I don't see a problem with that. The thing is, quite a few people are very demanding. They want a great game completely remade but don't want to pay more than for a HD collection. It was once said in an interview that a complete remake would take about 10 years. Even if that wasn't the case, 5 years or maybe even seven of development cost money. In the end, no one forces you to pay the full price. You can still buy it used or maybe in a collection a few years after.

Probably what i'll do but still against this episodic thing as again just bring it in multiple discs, but fine if people are so filled with bloodlust that they can't wait until XV and KH3 come out, so be it.

I'm still don't like the idea of dividing FFVII in multiple episodes but if they really can't fit the game on one disc what else could they do.I wonder how big this remake is gonna be now and what new content are they adding,my expectations a really high so I hope they deliver

Well, I don't mind it. I mean I was told by someone I know, that the original game has 3-4 discs. And besides, I have never played the original game anyways... I was a kid back then, and though Final Fantasy was some romantic teen game. And a silly kid thought about Sephiroth and that robotic thing he was holding to boot...

Just need to know how much each will most likely cost and if they will make a physical copy of the game even though that would probably require like 3 disk or however many episodes they make.  So the pricing, how long each episode will be, if they will have a season pass like thing like all the tell tales games have where you just pay for the whole game and just download each episode, and if there is gonna be a physical copy

I read this earlier today and I actually got really excited about this game(s).  It makes me wonder that if they are going to include the whole FFVII Collection in some form or another.  I was okay with the episodic format, not excited about it, but okay with it.  I knew Nomura was smarter than to pull a completely BS move like that, but I am going to see how much content the first episode has before I judge whether or not this episodic format is justified.

This is actually great. Square can release them in 3-5-7 parts, sell them at $60, after all the episodes have been released, put it in a collection at no more than $200 and finally profit because people will buy it. Genius. You go SE.

Then put it into three discs, just like they did in 1997.

Yeah, but they probably want the the first one released for the 20th anniversary and all 3 disks probably wouldn't be done in time. I mean if they split it into three disks and only release them once the final one is done, we can kiss any hope of a 2017 release goodbye. At least this way theres hope we'll get the first one by then.

A 20th anniversary release for the first episode sounds perfect to me! Just for the sake of tradition, I'm crossing my fingers that it happens.

If it does end up releasing after that, I'll be fine with it but slightly disappointed that it just missed the anniversary mark.
