With the announcement that both FFVII Remake and Hitman (2016) are being released across multiple episodes/installments, it is possible (but unlikely) that Square Enix might change KH3's business model to match this new development strategy. So my question is: if Kingdom Hearts 3 became episodic how would you feel?I think there are some positives such as being able to play the game earlier but waiting a month between each world would be painful.

You're question confuses me, the multipart thing they are doing with FF7 Remake and the episodic model they have with Hitman are two very different things. The reason they are calling the remake episodic is because the original 7 was a single game however with Kingdom hearts there never was a KH3 so there would be no reason to call it episodic it would just be 3,4, and 5. As for Hitman the way they are doing it is releasing one big hit a month with some side missions for half a year which couldnt be done with kh since it doesnt play by missions. Also Being episodic isnt something that is decided midway through development, games have to be built from the ground up to be episodic.

I'd definitely not get it in that case. I don't like the idea of an episodic RPG at all, it's why I quit on the FFVII Remake once it was announced to be episodic.

None of the above, I think... I'd get it, but I don't think I'd enjoy it quite as much. There's a lot of good to the idea of the episodic content model, and I think it's really interesting and bold that they're going the route with FF7R, but for a game we have yet to actually experience in any format, it would be a little cheap.

But we have 2.8, which is the closest they're going to get to that, so I'm not worried. There will be the full game.

Lol, Disney will not accept it being episodic.

Kingdom Hearts is designed around worlds, which are separate levels, so I think it similar to Hitman in a way. It isn't an open world game like FFXV, for instance. The FF7 example was just to show that Square are using non-conventional business models even for their own first party games.

Just... no... It's kingdom hearts 3 not 3.5 not 3.8 just 3 and I hope it stays that way. Besides, would square Enix ever do something like that? ~looks at Final Fantasy VII remake~ yeah... they would never...

I'm thinking if buying it or not as it is right now, if it becomes episodic, that's farewell...

As Dave said, the boycott would be real xD

Well, technically it is episodic since KH0.2 is sort of a KH3 episode.

I actually already consider KH3 episodic considering we need to play BBS and DDD to understand it

It was just a worse kind of episodic where every episode was released on a different platform

I voted for the first option, though I have to add that episodic games are not necessarily all bad (haven't really played any, so I don't have a strong opinion), but you have to think very carefully how you're going to carry it out. But if KH3 was episodic, I would be pretty angry tbh. That just wouldn't fit the game, since it's supposed to be a BIG and EPIC game. Dividing it into episodes would just ruin the pacing and the whole experience for me.

But really, I don't think Square would do that, as I think they know it would just make people angry (then again, never say never... -.-)

It's multipart not exactly episodic but here is an idea why not wait till all the parts come out, some pricing, the content within the parts then make a judgment

no, just no

i'd care even less about KH3 and wait until the entire thing is released before buying it. not that i'm against episodic games, but that style only works for certain kinds of games. fans have waited so long for KH3 i feel like the least SE could do is give them the entire game at once, rather than tiny pieces of it over the course of years.

Because I don't want to buy a full-out RPG in parts. I want the full package all together. Besides, with all of the gameplay changes being made, I don't want to go through all that trouble for just another Action RPG. I have the original FFVII and it's all I need.

I would be disappointed. But I would still buy the game.. I just need my Kingdom Hearts..

Here would be the conditions for it being episodic,

1. The content has to be big, like really big like the size of a full Kingdom Hearts game, or at least in terms of average length

2. The price of each episode has to be less than 60 dollars

3. The parts have to be spaced evenly

4. They have to release the full package afterwards maybe within a year

What I don't get about some people they act as if a game is released episodically they can't just wait for the full game to be released in full, or buy all the 5 dollar parts or 15 dollar parts all i'm saying is that each part when someone buys all the parts it should have the price tag of 60-65 dollars
