From story to gameplay, there is a lot that this game did that just hasn't been replicated

sound design

The enemy drops also feel way heavier than they ever do in the other games

Like the HP and munny orbs feel heavy and tangible

Disney villain council, actual platforming, defensive magic, disney worlds being aware of the outside world

There is a lot

I know that stupid I just highlighted that cause its my favorite talking point about it

Im just kidding lol I just said stupid to be funny.

Yeah the villain council made kid me hyped ngl

No offense to the orignal characters but man Disney Villians as the main baddies is just way more fun for me

I was a disney fan first and foremost so, its my main appeal

I'm still super hyped about the Foretellers though because of their aura and sick moveset

I'll give KH4 this, its the first time in a while I felt KH1's creepiness and unsettling aura

Its not the same or all that similar

But it reminds me of it

The essence of the "unknown" ya know?

I don't know if the Disney aspect was ever that strong for me
I probably cared a bit more as a kid.
But the original kh aspects are always much more stronger to me
I love the Disney stuff I just don't care about it outside of KH

it's also the new heartless designs. these are demons. not heartless

The whole game has more weight to it- I don't think 2 and 3 don't necessarily, like 2's combo finisher felt real WU-PAH ya know? But KH1 felt very delivery in everything it did

Actually the last time any game replicated this was 0.2. The disney worlds actually being part of the narrative as destroyed worlds in darkness just worked extremely well and brings back the eeriness of KH1.

the new heartless are genuinely terrifying

Even the platforming in that game was fun

I'm sorry man but Maleficent outshine half the True Org as far as charisma goes for me lol
