In the meantime, I just can't see Blank Points giving Terra all that Riku-like character-development + Eraqus's Heart for backup if he was just going to be chumped regardless -- too anticlimactic and pointless -- especially given Nomura's occasional insistence on bringing that part up.

MX being even cheaper than ever and/or ending up a complete Karma Houdini. Also, the "Eraqus, you sly fox..." moment from Blank Points amounting to absolutely nothing all along.

Looking back, all those fans' pre-DDD worries about MX pulling an Aizen over practically the entire canon were Harsher In Hindsight.

MX -- the main source of the infamous @$$pulls, convolutions, and retcons throughout the series. Only positive thing about him was Leonard Nimoy (R.I.P.)'s performance.

Could've been a result of Terranort's memory and multi-heart issues (it was never actually said whether not his amnesia was fake, only that his Heartless and Nobody were driven in some sense to continue MX's plans indirectly). He sounded pretty confused and uncertain after stabbing Braig, IMO.

Time goes differently in the ROD -- to put it into perspective, Aqua even says she's been "wandering through the endless hours." Also, Blank Points reveals Terra has some kind of ace up his sleeve and isn't truly as helpless as one would think. So yeah, tragic, but at least mitigated to an extent.
