    My secret? Listening to music a lot, I guess...That's how I developped my ear. By trying to hear the different instruments and harmonies in songs (I'd listen to the same song like 10 times in a row and I heard new things/harmonies/instruments everytime) And yeah let's work! :)

    You have that a talent man, I can't do that. I trained my ear by composing video game music (back when my youtube used to be catmaster), but Its a challenge for me to visualize harmonies like you do.

    The level of writing Oda presents in One Piece is just unmatched by any other manga. When you start analyzing each character and see the long, very subtle character growth happening WHILE the story advances with no hiccups, no very obvious character development/exposition nonsense, you understand why One Piece is so revered in Japan. And this is just pointing out the tip of a very large iceberg. I wanna write like this one day.

    The Xenoblade X Direct... kinda sucked. All recap of those Japanese streams. Cool for the people who never watched them, but disappointing for those of us who did. :/

    Thanks, now I don't look bad about saying just that. If Nintendo really wants me to get into the Xenoblade series, it's going to take more than little pieces of information and putting Xenoblade in Smash.

    My issue with it wasn't the information, but that it was all repeat. Japan had three half hour long streams with incredible detail about different aspects of the game, all of which were translated by fans.

    It really wasn't that bad. It was disappointing for those of us who already saw the Japanese streams, but it was still a good Direct overall. I don't see why it's such a major mistake.

    Why is it that so many people seem insistent that the best way to judge the quality of a game is by whether or not an anime can be made for it? Why not just enjoy the game as it is? :/

    I've seen people say it a lot. "This is so good, it should have an anime!" I mean, I guess it's not exactly a judging of quality, but that seems to be the first thought some people jump to when they think a game is good.

    Well, I kind of see their point, if I'm going to be honest.

     

    There ARE some video games which would make good animes. Not that they necessarily SHOULD have animes, however.

     

    But I still think judging a video game on whether or not an anime could be made out of it is stupid. (Although, sometimes, the reverse can be true!)

    Yeah, it can be cool in some situations. It's just weird that that's what some people jump to right off the bat. :/ It also bothers me when they say the anime would be much better. I saw someone say that Xenoblade would work way better if they made an anime for it.
