still waiting for pokemon origins gold and silver to be announced.

Also, I think I'm one of the few who prefers the GBC version over the DS version. The DS version just feels too slow and different for me, I guess. I prefer FR/LG over RBY, but I can't say the same when it comes to Gen II vs Gen IV remakes.
Reflet repliedMy second Pokemon game was Silver, and my first Pokemon game was Ruby! I really got into Pokemon back there, but Gen IV was the worst IMO (Except for HGSS)... Anyway, I really enjoy Johto! Both original and remake, and I would really enjoy for Origins: Gold & Silver to happen. Imagine the bettle between Gold & Red:o
Shulk repliedSilver was my first Pokemon game, and it's still my favorite. There's so much to do in it, it's crazy. I also agree that Gen IV is the worst. It's still great, but the engine is way too slow, and the setting wasn't all that interesting. HG/SS were the high point in terms of main games, and while they're also great games, I still don't think they quite measured up to the originals thanks to the limitations of Gen IV.
Sorual repliedi personally LOVED gen IV. i actually think the setting was BEYOND interesting. plus its when the series started to become darker which i still prefer the non-dark pokemon but i still thought it was a wonderful change of pace! i thought the reviel that cynthia was the champion at the end after all she as done with you already was awesome! (sure x and y did this too but diantha had much less prominance than cynthia) but i do agree about the engine. its WAY too slow.
Shulk replied@Just I feel like Gen V was a lot more polished, personally. I also really liked the deep plot of the Gen V games. Also, D/P being the next games with remakes... Holy crap, I can't believe that they're that old now. How old are they now? I feel like they were released in 2006, which would mean they're 8 years old... Dang.
@Sorual Don't get me wrong, I love every Pokemon game, Gen IV just felt like the bottom of the bunch. I've actually had a strong urge to play...
Shulk repliedI'd say the best story in the main series. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 has one of my favorites stories in gaming history. Gen V is still really close, though.
A lot of the gameplay updates were cool, too. B2/W2 had great post-games, as well. I still need to finish the post-game in my copy of White 2. Shulk replied@Just X/Y had a fantastic story, but I feel like they left too much out. I'd love to learn more about that war that was constantly mentioned. A lot of it was mostly crammed in to the end, too. B/W had a more consistent story.
@Sorual I loved the Battle Frontier, but like I said before, I personally think that SGC had the best. Going to another region and getting 8 more badges, along with fighting the main protagonist of the first game? That was incredible (Even though I never p...
Shulk replied@Sorual True, it can be seen that way. I always considered it post-game, since I consider the main game to end after the Champion is defeated and the credits roll.
Also, I really hope Z (Or X2/Y2, whichever we get) expands the story. I'm also kind of hoping we'll get a game about the Pokemon war, even though I doubt that would happen.
Sorual repliedi freaking LOVE PMD to no boundaries but im stuck on one of the 3 legendary dogs in blue rescue team. i can easily say that pokemon mystery dungeon is my favorite spin off series EVER even though i never finished it. kinda like wind waker is my favorite zelda even tho i never finished it. i still consider myself to be a true fan. i find it terrebly hard to advance like 40 floors without getting game over.
Shulk replied@Sorual I haven't done all of the post-game missions for Red Rescue Team, so I know how that feels.
The dungeons were insanely long at that point. Also, I'm the same way about Wind Waker. I need to finish that one soon.@Just I played the first one. It was fun, but got frustrating and a little boring. The second and third look a lot more fun though, so I'm hoping I can try them soon!
Shulk replied@Just I can't really say what my issue is (Aside from having to spin around the opponent a certain amount of times. I'm glad the other two use health instead), the first just felt kinda boring towards the end. I've heard the second is a lot better, though.
Also, on the subject of Pokemon spin-offs, I think Pokemon Conquest is my second favorite. It's fun, and has a ton of content in the post-game. If you like turn based tactical RPGs (FF Tactics, Fire Emblem, etc.),...
