Screenshots have recently surfaced on ResetEra, detailing a possible Monsters, Inc. world for Kingdom Hearts III. ResetEra user Wrestleman uploaded two screenshots that were shown to him on his Discord server by someone who got them from an unknown source who said they were taken from an FTP server. The screenshots show Sora, Donald, and Goofy in the lobby at the Scare Factory fighting what seems to be Unversed. Also present are Mike Wazowski and Sully, who appear to be party members for this world.

 

The first screenshot features Sora and the others facing off against what appears to be a monster Unversed (notice the symbol on its head), along with a few Flood Unversed. Sora, Donald, and Goofy have a more monster appearance. Sora’s legs have a striped look with a tail and he has horns coming from his ears. Donald appears to be a blue gremlin with little wings. Goofy is green from head to toe with his eyes poking out. Sora, Donald, and Goofy appear to be using their default weapons for this fight.

 

The HUD appears to be the default with Sora, Donald, and Goofy still in the regular Kingdom Hearts III outfits with no changes on their icons, however on Donald and Goofy’s icon, there is kanji written, meaning “Temporary," so the HUD may not be finished yet. The HUD also shows Mike and Sully’s icons in both their fight mode and in stationary mode.

 

The second screenshot has Sora and the others standing around, most likely after the fight. This shot appears to be from a developer’s point of view, displaying information about the status of the game. You can view the translations below:

Wrestleman also uploaded a screenshot of an alleged leak of a Frozen world in Kingdom Hearts III, but it was quickly deleted by Wrestleman as others brought it to his attention that it was just a screenshot from the movie.

 

UPDATE [Dec. 15, 2017]: On closer inspection, the Sora model used for the HUD in this recent alleged Monsters, Inc. Kingdom Hearts III leak is the old HUD model from the Rock Troll Heartless screenshot from MAGIC 2017. It is not the updated HUD model from the new Kingdom Hearts III Orchestra and Toy Story trailers.

 

UPDATE [Dec. 23, 2017]: New screenshots of the alleged Kingdom Hearts III Monsters, Inc. world leak have surfaced on Imgur. The new batch of screenshots includes an introduction of Boo and the door vault. There are also a few shots of debugging and comparisons with the Kingdom Shader. It's fake. The creators forgot to change Sora, Donald, and Goofy's appearances on the HUD.

There's is a high possibility of being fake, so let's not assume anything at the moment.

That's not necessarily true let's say this is going to be in the next trailer they show obviously they didn't finish the HUDs for Sora Donald and Goofy you have to remember everything we see of Kingdom Hearts 3 is never the final looking product it's always going to be in development till it gets a concrete release date.(more then just 2018) Just go back and watch Old Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers and you'll see almost every new trailer of the HUD changes there's always changes being made For all we know making HUD changing appearances could be the very last thing they could do gameplay-wise of the game.

Well, my negative opinion comes from the fact that all KH3 "leaks" attempted were fake. So it could be real, but I'm not putting my hopes on it, if you know what I mean.

I'm not even a big fan of Monsters Inc but this is hype as heck. I 1000% welcome it if it's true. At this point in time I don't know what else I want in this game when it comes to worlds I just want nomura to surprise me and I'm 100% confident he won't disappoint me.

It sure looks good!

If it's fake, it is definitely the best fake I've ever seen.

 

About the portraits, I wouldn't be concerned about that, it's written in yellow: "Placeholder"

Not something that I would expect in KH3 so I hope it's fake, but something tells me this is real.

To be honest we got a Pixar world at D23, Anaheim sooo... a Pixar world at D23 Japan would make sense. Even if it is fake which I'm more on the side of believing it's real, it does look pretty legit. There is an unversed in the screenshot and the idea of negative emotions in a Monsters Inc. world would make sense.  

If you zoom in, it looks like Goofy's eyes are enlarged into ping pong balls...as legit as it looks I'm calling fakes because of that, the hud, Sully doesn't look fully fleshed  out (game still in development though), The boss is a dream eater, for some reason I doubt there will be dream eaters in this game (Also Unversed?). I would totally be down for a Monsters world though, the designs look pretty good from what I can tell.

It's impressively made nonetheless, fake or not. Apart from the fact that I do not think the movie would fit since transformations to this degree might pose a problem to make the original plot relevant without looking ridiculous, I think Sully looks strange. Not SE model strange but rather as though he was ripped out from another source material and pasted into the picture. The edges and his fur look blurry, which doesn't really fit the rest, work in progress or not.

Or maybe it's just me not wanting too many transformations in KH3 because they can also destroy the atmosphere. Toy Story is a bit different because the characters retain a mostly normal appearance compared to their real bodies.

 

Another thing is this whole 'friend of a friend gave me this' business. Of course the person who allegedly leaked this wants to remain hidden but the more people are in-between the source and the person posting it, the more suspicious I become.

Actually, the boss looks like a Unversed. The symbol on its head is the symbol of the Unversed.

People have already made videos on these screenshots, so if their videos get taken down by SE, it would prove that the images are legit, but if the images aren't real, then the videos will remain on youtube

Did you notice that the enemies the group is fighting are Unversed? O.O

Yep, even the big monster is an Unversed! It doesn’t surprise me, I was pretty much expecting the Heartless, Nobodies, and Unversed in III

On a similar note, and just taking a crack at it, maybe not. I think when that commercial or recap of d23 with the Astros blaster "leaked" it remained on YouTube and was revealed shortly a free as screenshots from SE? Maybe well see this at JF?
