Fun fact: That rather out of place "ice cream line" is actually a good line that translated horribly. The ice cream Roxas referred to was sea salt ice cream. Tears have salt in them, too. The line is symbolic, and really saying "Who am I going to cry with?"

I see the line in a different way now.

Personally, I kind of like the ice cream one better, because that's what they always did. They ate ice cream together. I can't recall a single time where they cried together. lol Plus, it made Roxas sound naive and childish, which he is.

I think it still works the way he has it. Analyzing Roxas's situation, some people on youtube inferred that he understood term 'friend' strictly as someone who he can relax with and share ice cream with. So really, that line serves as a demonstration of his limited knowledge of what friends really are. Almost makes it sadder too, considering the only two people he considered friends ended up having to fight him at one point or another.

Well... If you see in another way, the "who else I'll have ice cream with" line also makes sense... Since Roxas and Axel became friends right after Roxas' birth, and both of them had sea salt ice cream that day, Axel indirectly taught Roxas that "having ice cream with someone means you're friends now", and Xion and Roxas became friends the same way... Well... That's how I saw Roxas' line until I saw this thread =3

Nah. You guys are playing up the drama of the scene. Nothing like that was going on.

It's like how people view the Happy Mask Salesman in Majora's Mask in a much creepier way than intended, people see tragedy in Roxas every time he blinks.

I tried to understand it, but couldn't find the right meaning. I thought it was a bit silly at first.

We all know the ice cream line was symbolic, be it friendship, crying or w/e, but its fun to poke fun at the line, that scene tears me up every time even when he says the ice cream line lol, but when i'm not tearing up I'm poking fun at the line haha.
