Power Jusho 1,784 Posted April 17, 2014 Source: http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/news/20140416_E.pdf With their contract ended, I think that KH 2.5 is done & now we have to wait for the release date. And with 2.5, Square can now work on other games like Murdered: Soul Suspect, KH3, & FF XV. 2 The Transcendent Key and tlrpttmn reacted to this

RikuFangirl2008 1,368 Posted April 17, 2014 So, does it mean that 2.5 HD ReMix, 3, and XV are still going to be on the Playstation, but the future games from Square Enix wont be on the Playstation anymore?

Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) So, does it mean that 2.5 HD ReMix, 3, and XV are still going to be on the Playstation, but the future games from Square Enix wont be on the Playstation anymore? God, I hope not. The other consoles are ok (well, except for the Kinect), but Playstation is my console of choice. I can handle playing side games on other systems, but I just can't imagine playing the main installments on anything other than a Dualshock controller. I really hope there's more to this than what we think, because I'm still awaiting my BbS Vol 2 and full on remakes of Days, Re:Coded, and DDD. This has NOTHING to do with video games. This is more about Sony than Square Enix. Sony is selling their shares with other companies as well because of their horrible financial situation. This is just business, not video games. 1 WakelessDream reacted to this

Jim 2,990 Posted April 17, 2014 I was looking at the comments for a while, and I found this: Just to hit the business side of this for people who are confused (because there seems to be some confusion in the comments), this doesn't really mean too much for Square Enix. For those don't know or don't remember, back when Square and Enix were two independent companies looking at a merger, Square took a massive hit with the stupendous box office failure that was Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. In response, Enix very nearly backed out of the merger, but was brought back to the table by the mutual benefactor and beneficiary of both companies, Sony, which shored up the then-very-shaky situation Square was in by buying a large chunk of Square's stock. With Square Enix on the path to fiscal security with Eidos doing well, their mobile division making healthy returns, and FFXIV: A Realm Reborn doing fantastically well, Sony selling this portion of stock doesn't really mean anything to Square Enix's bottom line. That 8.2% wasn't a controlling share, it wasn't why Square Enix was making PS4 exclusives, and it almost certainly means absolutely nothing for the business relationship between Square Enix and Sony going forward. All this really amounts to is Sony giving up one kind of asset (stock) for another kind of asset they need more of right now (money) so they can pay off some of their long-standing liabilities. This guy seems to know what he's talking about. I hope he's right. 1 Jilly Shears reacted to this

Jim 2,990 Posted April 17, 2014 He is right. Although Square Enix aren't making any PS4 exclusives. Yeah, I noticed that too. Unless he means FFXIV, which would kinda make sense if you're talking strictly next gen

Sora96 17,256 Posted April 22, 2014 So we will still get KH games on PS4 in the future? And other Sony consoles? Kingdom Hearts and FINAL FANTASY games will continue as normal. This is just business. Also, anyone thinking Square Enix would stop developing for the most powerful video game console ever is crazy. 1 Kodakliv reacted to this
