It can be from a game, TV show, anime, manga, comic, book... Whatever you want!
So, mine is this guy:
Tobi from Naruto Shippuden. Otherwise known as (MAJOR SPOILERS)
Obito Uchiha. Now, this is a really unpopular choice. Heck, most people hate him as a villain. Even I did at one point. However, after thinking a lot (And I mean a LOT) about his character, I've grown to really appreciate him as a villain. Why? Well, I'll explain:
Obito was once like any other ninja from the Leaf village. However, he was seen as a failure. Growing up, there was only one person who actually seemed to care about him: a girl named Rin Nohara. The two were on a team with a ninja naked Kakashi Hatake, who hated Obito for never being serious. Obito quickly fell for Rin, due to the kindness she'd shown him. She was the only one who ever cared about him, and he appreciated that a lot. One day, while on a mission, Rin was kidnapped by Stone Village shinobi. Kakashi insisted that they should continue their mission, which led to Obito telling Kakashi that he was scum for not caring about his comrades. After a speech, Obito ran off, impressing Kakashi. The two began to trust each other, and worked together to save Rin. However, just when they were about to escape, the cave they were in began to collapse on them. Obito shoved Kakashi out of the way of some rubble, managing to be hit, with half of his body crushed under the rock... He asked Rin to give Kakashi his Sharingan eye, since Kakashi had lost one on the mission. Afterwards, the cave crumbled in on him, and he died...
Or so we thought. However, an old man had found him, and managed to save him and help him recover. The man, Madara Uchiha, tried to teach Obito about the "truth" of their world. Madara believed that they lived in a horrible world, and he wished to change this. Obito only cared about finding his comrades. One day, Obito was informed of Rin and Kakashi being in trouble. Obito escaped, and rushed to their rescue... When he found them, the first thing he saw was Kakashi murdering Rin. Watching the one person he'd trusted with Rin's life murder her, his only other friend, broke him. He slaughtered the army that Kakashi and Rin were fighting, then swore to create a new, perfect world.
I think that video pretty much sums up his character. Obito led a tragic life. He was forced to watch one of his only friends murder the other. He lost all trust in the world, which was quickly replaced with hatred. His backstory is incredibly depressing. Heck, it led to what's easily the darkest moment in Naruto, and possibly the darkest thing I've ever seen (Obito's slaughter of the army). This guy was actually capable of invoking fear, distress, and sorrow. Most people might hate this villain, but he's my favorite villain of all time. He developed so much... I'm glad that he's been put back on the right path by Kakashi and Naruto, though.
I also forgot to mention... This guy is basically a reflection of Naruto. They both led very similar lives. However, Obito strayed from his path, and became twisted as a result. At the start of the series, Naruto easily could have done the same thing. This shows contrast between the two characters, which I really like.
Sorry about the long explanation for mine... Anyway, what about all of you?
