What is your game of the year so far? Not including remakes, remasters and ports. Games that were released this year please.

LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII for me.

Well, you did not limit an entire series, so I will have to go with all the Assassin's Creed games.

I'm talking about games that came out this year.

well as far as i can remember the only game i was anticipating this year that came out by now was mario kart 8. that IS going to change once smash bros comes out tho.

I would have to say that for me it was Broken Age by Double Fine. That games' story and puzzles were just so rewarding and the music found a way to be both uplifting and heartbreaking at the same time. Take this song for example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZZY9ytT6ww

Child of Light or Shadowrun: Dragonfall for me.

InFamous: Second Son, I guess.

There's no game that's come out this year that I've really played or loved.  A new game for me is the Trine series and I've been loving it

Mario Kart 8, definitely. Love that game. Of course, the only other new game I've played this year is Kirby: Triple Deluxe. I'm looking forward to a lot of games coming out in Fall, though. :D

I'm going to have to say Mario Kart 8, although I was a little upset with the new battle mode. That aside, it's the best game I've played that came out this year.

Lightning Returns, I haven't even played any more games released this year. I should try Child of Light, though, since I'm sure it's awesome.

Transistor for sure.

I don't exactly have one yet...I could say Bravely Default, but I don't think that's big enough to warrant GOTY.

It's hard to even count that since it came out in Japan so long ago. The only continent it is was released in this year was North America.

Mario Kart 8 and Bravely Default

and soon enough Smash Bros 4 and Pokemon OmegaRubyAlphaSapphire when they come out

This year has had a pretty weak lineup do far (and the future ain't looking good either). So I guess the only one I played. Which is InFamous Second Son. Which wasn't even that good.

Sorry, no remakes in this.

Specific to this year I haven't gotten a whole lot of new games. Normally, I wait till the end of the year to pick up anything major unless it's a handheld title for the DS, but a new Handheld title I want hasn't come in a while.

Let's not forget about Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire at the end of the year... xD

Mario Kart 8 for now. I'm sure Hyrule Warriors and Smash will take the cake by the end of the year.

Sora96's rules are that remakes aren't included... but, screw the rules, those games are gonna be great :P

Infamous Second Son.. I haven't played a better game than that which came out this year, not even Watch Dogs.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Definitly the best 2D platformer I've played alongside Rayman Legends since the SNES era

Honestly haven't played any games I love or really like, best game I've played this year would be Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.
