I always love Super Mario. I own all of his games. Even the bad ones like Mario is Missing, or Mario time machine, or even Hotel Mario. I'm really a big fan of his games. But recently, his games don't seem creative and innovation as it use to be. It feels that the new Mario games that Nintendo makes are just cheap cash-ins.(For example, Mario Kart 8, SM3DW, and SLU.) Plus, the new Mario games like MP10 seems to get a lot of Negative criticism for being rehashs. I made me think of about this: Should the little fat plumber days should end?

Well, I love Mario Kart 8 a lot, and I'm looking forward to Mario Party 10 (my first since the GameCube days) and Mario Maker. And so I don't think it should end, they just need to make some better ones in the future. Plus I don't think they would end Mario, cause that would be like Disney forgetting about Mickey.

Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World are two of the best games on the Wii U. I don't see how they're cheap cash-ins, I've heard nothing but praise for both of them. :/

That's like 60-70+ Mario games, an impressive feat.

My opinion is that as long as they continue to be GOOD, I don't see why it shouldn't continue. Mario is more than just a game franchise, it's transcended that into becoming an icon.

No,I don't want the Mario serie to end. While I agree that the New Super Mario Bros. serie(except the DS one) felt like cash-grabs,I wouldn't call Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D world cash-grabs either, those were great. Even though there's a lot of nostagia in 3D world, the game still felt new and interesting.

Even though I don't like some of the mario games in the super mario franchise, they don't have to stop making games because people like them.

Nah. I find myself consistently enjoying the ones I play.

Last good "Mario game" for me was SMG2. If you count Smash Bros as a Mario game then I would say that is the last good one. Always found Mario Kart kinda boring.

No. It still has potential. They still sell well.  He is the face of Nintendo and arguably gaming in general.

There can be concerns about driving a formula too far into the ground, but as long as it's a good formula and it keeps up to date with modern gaming, a franchise won't end so easily -- especially one as freakishly big as Mario. Even people totally unfamiliar with video games will know who Mario is. He's an icon and he's too big to die anytime soon.

Mario's their biggest franchise and arguably to biggest gaming franchise on the planet, and they usually get good to great reviews. Nintendo would have to be insane to stop making Mario games; you might as well suggest Square Enix stop making Final Fantasy games.

Why? Mario  is one of Nintendo's most successful franchises, and makes them good money every year. They'd be fools to end it now.

It's the most successful video game franchise of all time.

Mario brings in the dosh for Nintendo. The day that series ends is the day the company goes down for good

The thing you have to realize about Mario or any other Nintendo IP is that their exclusivity on Nintendo consoles brings in lots of money for the company. And being that Mario is the de facto mascot of Nintendo, discontinuing those games would likely ruin Nintendo.

And let's not forget that the original SMB has been credited with almost single-handedly saving the struggling video game industry back in the 80's.

The Mario franchise will never die.  It is a universally loved video game franchise, and even though not all of Mario's video game outings have been five star successes, he has quite a lot of history in the gaming world, so he won't fade into obscurity just like that.  He's a beloved icon!

"The Mario franchise is great and all, but some people on the internet said they didn't like it... should it end forever?"

Might as well cancel all video games while you're at it

No, but they should also rethink the design and target audience of the styles of games. Platformers like the Bros. and Land/World series have gotten really stale and easy, while things like Mario Kart are almost exclusive to an obnoxious hardcore crowd. Making a challenging platformer would be the best thing I could think of, or else go outside the box like they did with Super Mario Sunshine (although that game was boring as well, but still).

There is noooooo way that Nintendo will discontinue the Mario series. Because not only did it single handedly save the video game industry back in the 80's, Mario himself is a HUGE gaming icon. And the fact that he makes Nintendo a lot of money. SO it would be suicide for them to just stop making Mario games.

The day Nintendo stops making Super Mario games and merchandising is the same day when Disney retires Mickey Mouse as their mascot.

Should Kingdom Hearts end?Should Final Fantasy End Here is a question for ya

Also, you're basically asking for the impossible

Mario is their freakin mascot and it'll be  a death sentence to them if they stopped Mario

Also,Mario Kart 8 is a cheap cash-in?Did you even play the game or own a Wii U?Cuz if there is an example of a cash-in then Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded would be that

To be honest, Re:coded sales were pretty mediocre.

Well honestly there is nothing relevant happening in that game except for the ending AND the secret cutscene that kickstart the events of Dream Drop Distance

I agree, coded and Re:coded were a waste of time. They could have easily covered that at the start of KH3D.
