Why do people want only Sora to face Xehanort?

Posted

Seriously, why? I understand that Sora is destined to defeat Xehanort, but that doesn't mean he should be the one to finish off Xehanort. Xehanort barely did any harm to him. Pretty much force him into sleep. Other characters on the hand, lots of bad things happen to them.

Riku- Heart got corrupted and possessed at one point.

Ventus- Heart greatly damaged and force inside someone else heart while body left in a coma.

Aqua- Lives in the realm of darkness.

Terra- Possessed and free will is trapped within armor.

Xion- Forced to kill her friend and dissappears into Sora heart.

Master Eraqus- Killed.

If anything, one of these characters should at least finsh Xehanort off instead of Sora.

I'd rather say that it is most likely Sora that will finish him off. The 7 GoL will participate in the fight and those who had been affected by Xehanort will be able to resist his influence. And if Xehanort tries to affect them again, Sora will put a stop to it. That's what I think anyway.

1. Kingdom Hearts is Sora's story.

2. He is at the same time the least and most affected by Xehanort's actions. He suffered the least directly but he holds all the suffering Xehanort has put everyone else through. I don't want Xehanort to be finished of by someone he hurt directly because I don't want revenge to be a factor.

3. He has never finished a final boss off completely alone. In KH he had Donald and Goofy, in CoM he still had Donald and Goofy in the form of cards, in KH2 he had Riku and in 3D he had his Spirirts. If he finished of the most powerful Keyblade Master of modern times all on his own, it would show that he's a Master even without the title. His friends could still be his power even if they're not physically present, as we saw in 3D, but, like I said, even the. He had a party of sorts. Plus, can you imagine Xehanort's reaction if the one to take him out was a "dull, ordinary boy" one who, from Xehanort's perspective, was never even meant to wield a Keyblade and can only do so thanks to a series of cosmic mistakes? It would also make him think he was wrong about destiny not being left to chance. I'd kind of like to see that composure of his crack and the best way to do that is for him to loose to Sora, the one person who defys his logic.

probably because sora is the main hero of this story. TAV all got shoehorned into the story long after Sora had been established as the main character so for them to come along and steal his spotlight would be a terrible way to end the saga. that's giving the BBS trio waaaaaaay more credit than they could ever deserve.

Basically what Isamu said, it's the whole thing of Sora, the dull ordinary boy who had all the things happen to his friends and those connected to him because of Xehanort to face the one who was behind it all, Xehanort, the most powerful and wisest Keyblade Master to date it's the basic underdog story out there

Not that I'm against Sora being the one to do it, but I would love for Eraqus to be the one, personally.  To almost parallel the relationship of Sora and Riku, proving that it is Sora's determination and care for his friends that can bring them back from even something like the darkness - something Eraqus was unable to do.  (Not that Xehanort is obsessed with darkness, just knows how to utilize it unlike literally any keyblade wielder ever.)

Well because Sora is the main protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts series while Master Xehanort is the main Antagonist of the Xehanort Saga, so it makes sense that Sora will be the one to officially kill of Master Xehanort once and for all. I honestly don't care who officially kills off Master Xehanort because all I care about is playing Kingdom Hearts 3 and see how it ends the Xehanort saga.

Why did Goku have to face Freiza? He was killing everyone else, Goku didn't even know the guy, why would he care?

Because he killed those he cared about, destroyed entire planets and races just for fun, and had no remorse for any of his misdeeds. He went against everything he stood for and he threatened the entire universe as well as his loved ones, that's why Goku fought him.

Why am I talking about this? Because the same thing applies to Sora. Sora may not have faced or met Master Xehanort personally, but he has been an active negative force in his life. He led to his islands being destroyed, his friends lost, his best friend corrupted, separated from his friends, the loss of many worlds, pain and torment to others (including those he cares about), the separation of his being, the pain that his Nobody had, questioning his ideals, yes putting him into a deep sleep but for the purpose of possessing his body, and for just generally standing against everything he stands for. He has PLENTY of reason to fight Xehanort. And again, the fact that he has already put so many people he cares about through so much pain is exactly the reason he should "finish him off" (whatever that would actually mean, there's no rule saying that he has to die). He didn't have to know about Master Xehanort to the same extent that Terra or Aqua or Ventus did, he just knows that he's been using him and his friends for his own schemes, that he is threatening to destroy the worlds as they are, and he needs to be stopped. It doesn't have to be more than that. If he really needs to be more familiar with his foe, maybe he can have a few relationship establishing scenes together with him, see their personalities actually play off each other, show how they can work as enemies. That much I would like to see. But the point is that he doesn't have to be "wronged" by Xehanort in the same way everyone else has, and even then he was STILL wronged by him anyway, so it doesn't even matter.

A hero doesn't simply stand up against an evil force because it wronged him in the past (at least not solely anyway), he stands up because he knows that what it is doing is wrong and that someone needs to stand against it and stop it from harming others. Sora has shown that he holds that strong sense of justice, so if it is within his power to do so, he will do what he can to stop Xehanort from harming everyone once and for all.

"Their hurting will be mended when you return to end it."

Sora feels the pain of all his friends, through the memories and the connections he has with them. Like Flaming Lea said, Sora has fought Xehanort before - whether that may be Ansem or Xemnas, it still is  Xehanort who is causing this trouble.

Sora is the main protagonist of the series and Xehanort is the antagonist of this saga. It's quite obvious as to why Sora should fight him, regardless of whether you may tihnk Terra or Riku are more justified to fight him.

Well aside from the bad build up there is the other reason of Sora being..........oh I dunno.....THE MAIN CHARACTER?

It's like having Tifa be the one that kills Sephiroth instead of Cloud

I think it should be Ventus, Terra, and Aqua who finish Master Xehanort off. They were the first to tangle with him and because of him, they fell to fate. They should finish what they started.

Remember: sora has an entire army inside his heart at this point.

Plus, there HAS been rumors of multiple playable characters.

So, frankly, it could be anyone.

but I want Roxas to fight because he can duel wield and duel wielding is awesome.

I think Sora himself points out in KH2 that he has more than enough beef with Xehanort. After finding out the true identity of Xehanort, he realizes that it's entirely his (Xehanort's) fault that all this garbage has happened to Sora and his friends. He's the reason why Sora works 13 hour days fighting back the Dark. In fact, Sora has seen the long lasting effects and devastation caused by Xehanort more than anyone else clinging to his coat tails.

Xehanort and Sora are the biggest character contrasts in nearly every regard. That alone should be the reason for the battle.

I want 13 vs 7 in one battle!

Honestly, i only want Sora to fight him. Just saying.

Kingdom Hearts is Sora's story, like Isamu said. It would be wrong for other characters to face off against the main antagonist of the Dark Seeker saga.

The Goku-Frieza example was a good example of the Sora-Xehanort thing, and that is why Nort must finally be vanquished by Sora.

Sora needs to finish Xehanort but the others must help him saving Kingdom Hearts when Xehanort turned it in dark.
