To kick off D23 Expo Japan 2015, Disney and Square Enix are hosting a special event called the Kingdom Hearts Premium Theater. This is a private event in Japan, in which we expect some huge news for Kingdom Hearts III! Because we do not expect a livestream of the event, official or otherwise, we will be using this article to provide live updates in addition to articles covering any big announcements that come up. The doors will open at 10:00pm EST (7:00pm PT) and the event begins at 11:00pm EST (8:00pm PT). 4:06PM (USA EST): Pictures of the D23 Expo building posted!

10:00PM (USA EST): The doors for the theater have opened and people are heading in now!

10:09PM (USA EST): Fans have entered the theater!

10:16PM (USA EST): Hashimoto, executive producer of the Kingdom Hearts series, was spotted at the front of the theater!

10:26PM (USA EST): Rules of the theater announced. No video allowed.

11:00PM (USA EST): The event has begun! Information can't be released till 3AM (USA EST)

3:30AM (USA EST): A new nobody was revealed during the trailer! Look like someone we know?

3:45AM (USA EST): Nomura-san showed off a 3D model of Daybreak Town in KH3 graphics!

3:50AM (USA EST): The 3D model of Daybreak Town, as well as new areas of Mount Olympus were from a "Making of KH3" video that will stay exclusive to attendees of the event.

3:50AM (USA EST): All of the union leaders in KHχ were voiced in the KH2.8 trailer!

4:00AM (USA EST): The KH3 trailer ended with Sora, Roxas, Namine, Xion, Riku, Axel, Kairi, Aqua, Terra, and Ven sharing a nice moment!

Maybe 5pm (which would be 7pm in Sydney) is when they're going to publicly release official stuff from the event?

Sorry guys, no video allowed, and they are refrained from posting on Social Media until after the second showing. We may get a few updates after the first one from people who just cannot contain themselves.

Well at least we'll still get firsthand impressions. That'll tickle our imaginations for a bit until they finally give us the footage.

I really have a feeling they're going to post it online around hours after the event. They seem to be tinkering with the official sites for Kingdom Hearts 3.

I'm willing to bet someone will post something after the first showing. It's pretty much impossible to regulate that kind of thing. Videos they can regulate, social media stuff they can not.

Please don't tell me that the Kingdom Hearts Premium Theatre is going to be another one of those "only behind doors" situations again. They had a "behind door" situation in 2014 didn't they? And they got a lot negative feedback for it.

 

It's like saying. "Hey, we finally announced KH3, a game that we've been teasing sense the secret ending of KH2 FInal Mix back in 2006. So about 7 years and we finally show our fans a confirmation that the project is being made. What are we going to do next? Only show a room full of people exclusive footage and not show anyone else for a game that most likely won't be out 10 years after KH2. A game that everyone's been glammering for and preying for new information. YES SUCH A GREAT IDEA!"

 

No it's not, you could argue that the game is in early development but we did have the E3 2015 trailer so it's clear that they have no problem of showing the game at this point. i think frozen was announced, not sure but someone is like doing a code so they won't get copyrighted. they had ana and elsa and thick snow or something.

NO IMPRESSIONS. Hope someone does end up posting right afterwards. The impressions are always off and misleading. Trust is made with actions, not words.

Square Enix is money hungry. As far as they're concerned, if you didn't shell out $3500 to fly to Japan and see the event (granted you won a spot in the ticket sales) then they don't care about you. It sucks that our most favorite game company operates like that, but hey. We'll see it eventually.

Well perhaps if we are lucky they will release footage once the second event ends, which would be a lot faster tan it was last D23 Japan (I think it took like 2-3 days before we got the footage)
