What are your thoughts on Cloud joining Super Smash Bros.?

I think its great. Honestly I would've preferred sora or goku, but cloud is awesome too

There are other Square Enix characters that I think would fit a lot better (Crono, Neku, Cecil, Terra, or Erdrick, to be specific), but Cloud's still a cool choice. I'll probably play as him from time to time.

 

Love how the options here jump from "I won't use him" to "He's my favorite Square character of all time!" with nothing in-between.

I'm truly excited! No way I (or pretty much 90% of the world) would expect Cloud Strife to appear in Smash Bros. Man, he looks so so broken right now. I'm excited for the Final Results of the Smash Ballot to be announced, too.

It is awesome!!!!! Cloud is my second favorite Final Fantasy character right after Lightning and it is awesome to see him have a chance to battle Ike, and even Pokemon! This is awesome news for me, and I will enjoy every minute of it!

It's great that he's in the game but he's not my favorite Square character.i'll try to see if I can main him like Link & Roy

This is as close as we're gonna get to Sora.

It was a pleasant surprise. To be honest I wasn't really expecting any Square Enix characters but this was pretty neat. I don't have the game anymore, but if I did I probably wouldn't play as him much, I'd probably stick to my mains Peach, Sheik, and Toon Link. 

I think it's cool that he got added and I will end up buying him on the Wii U version (as I have all other character DLC any ways). Although to be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of FF7. Cloud as a character is lame and I would've liked to have seen another character from Final Fantasy be represented, but you have to look at the wider picture. He is a gaming icon so if you had to go with someone from FF then I can't see anyone but him being included (ignoring personal tastes of course).

 

I already have my mains in Marth, Jigglypuff, Shulk and Ness. I'll give Cloud a shot like I did with Ryu, but really his use will probably be from my friends/family giving him a go. I really can't wait to see who else has been added, the special broadcast has me in all kinds of hype.

Not a big Final Fantasy fan but I still think it's really cool that we're getting him in Smash. I definitely want to try him out.

 

Also, the stage that comes with him (well, I assume it will come with him) looks awesome. That's definitely a welcomed addtion. ^_^

Give him KH1's voice actor and I'll be okay.

I'd be totally fangirling if I actually played Smash, though I'm honestly a little nervous about the backlash Cloud would get from haters, or just anyone who's simply tired of FFVII's overexposure. Even I'll admit I'd rather see FFVII die with what little dignity it has left, but I was actually pleased with the trailer. What I saw looked like it remembered the kind of stuff that made FFVII cool in the first place, rather than the watered-down version the Compilation and other cameos tried to present.

 

I... kinda would like a Cloud amiibo, though.

A newer option would be better like "I love it and I can't wait to play him!". That expresses how I feel haha. 

Cloud isn't my favorite Square Enix character, but I find it amazing and awesome that he's going to be forming a part of the Smash roster!  He'll fit in perfectly with the already robust array of characters, and his fighting style looks to be quite amazing!  I'm also loving the Midgar stage with the Odin, Leviathan, Ramuh, Ifrit and Bahamut summons!  That was just beast! x_X

 

Edit: I'll definitely want to main Cloud, since his move-set looks to be quite awesome!

I am VERY excited for him. I never really had a favorite character in Smash, but not that Cloud has arrived, I'm going to be playing him all the time! :biggrin:

 

I also hope he has more than just his AC outfit. Cloud has a ton of outfits he could use.

I agree with you because he IS technically a kingdom hearts character in the kingdom hearts universe. 

It was good, Cloud is one of my FF favourite charcters, although I do prefer a few others. I would like to try him out, and if I actually owned and played the game, he would be one of my mains.

I'm pretty stoked over it! I still want Sora though.

Its amazing,FFVII is my favorite FF so its great to have Cloud in Smash and its a pleasant surprise too because I never though Cloud would be in Smash of all people,but it makes sense,Cloud is so popular,heck I knew him before I even know what Final Fantasy was,he's the obvious choice for a Final Fantasy character.

I don't play smash, so I don't particularly care. I might buy a Cloud amiibo for kicks, though.
