Update: The official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account released a tweet confirming a trailer release at Jump Festa 2016. The tweet was accompanied with a picture, bearing the logos of both Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III. Whether or not these are the trailers released during D23 Expo Japan is unclear at this time. It is also unclear whether Kingdom Hearts III will have its own separate trailer, or if it will be featured all in one trailer. Regardless, stay tuned to KH13 for a livestream of the event!

With Jump Festa 2016 approaching this weekend, we wanted to give you a refresher on the event's details. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is confirmed to appear at the event with a new trailer, with the possibility of an appearance for Kingdom Hearts III. Jump Festa 2016 is held from December 19 through the 20th (December 18th through the 19th for USA). Square Enix starts at 8:20 PM (USA EST) and ends at 1:30 AM (USA EST) on Friday, and 10:15 PM (USA EST) through 2:20 AM (USA EST) on Saturday, with the event being livestreamed on Square Enix's official Japanese YouTube channel. The Kingdom Hearts series has made multiple appearances throughout previous occurrences for Jump Festa such as Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance at Jump Festa 2012.

Square Enix has already confirmed that they will be streaming at Jump Festa.

They already have their livestream up, even though it's not live yet.

Because of this, I am almost certain we will be able to see it there.

That and the fact that JF KH trailers have usually been public, so I do have high hopes the public will see it.

It's a 50/50 chance at this point (in my opinion). We don't know enough about the game to really believe that there will be a release date announced at JF, but at the same time, the other HD remakes were released 1 year apart from each other. (Even if 2.5 was a bit rushed)

We might get a release date since we don't know when 2.8 started development, but at the same time we might not.

Don't forget that two portions of the game are new, even if they are fairly short.

 

Then again, what do I know?

I'm excited for these new trailers, even if they are most likely the D23 ones but still it would be nice to see those, plus it was the NA KH twitter that posted this so that just makes it even more amazing!

So apparently the KH channel has already pre-uploaded a video. (Likely one of the trailers, or THE trailer if they happen to be merged)

They definitely could, but I would think it's a scheduled upload. Most likely it would be uploaded after the trailer drops at JF or after the event. (Though, since it's likely to appear in the livestream, there will probably be other YouTubers posting the trailer before the KH channel does in that case) NA/EU/etc. fans basically have almost nothing to fear about trailer publicity at this point.

well I'm glad that they might make the trailer or trailers public because basically since e3, most of us kh fans NEVER saw anything kingdom hearts 3 or 2.8 related besides the pictures.

Personally, I live in US Eastern Time. The event starts at 10:30 AM Tokyo Time, so that's 8:30 PM for me. (I'm not sure about your time zone)
