At the end of the day... 'they are two different teams hurr hurr' is a joke ass excuse. Nomura is [i]literally one person[/i]. He has not shown (to my knowledge at least but obviously I could be wrong) he can work on multiple things at once. This is why the general speculation (and even expectation at this point) has been that FF7 Remake has to all be out and done before KH4 comes out. I still believe this is, unfortunately whether we like it or not, the case. So yes I doubt the game will actually be in our hands until 2028 or later 💀 But if it makes you feel better or helps you sleep at night... it's just how literally only I feel

Like dude why make him one of the directors of Remake? I know he isnt the main one, in that or rebirth but you got guys who can do the job.

I get why he has to be there but like, you pulled him off 15, which did that [i]really[/i] make KH3 come out that much faster? Then you have him do a part 7 remake trilogy [/i]while[/i] doing Kingdom Hearts shit. I get why he's there for the remakes but in such a time consuming role? LIke dude KH is his main project it's [/i]his[/i] thing, let him [/i]focus[/i] on that instead of draining his 40's and 50's and shit that doesn't need to involve him.

That being said i dont think multiple projects eats up [i]that[/i] much time really, but it doesnt help imo

i think being taken off ffxv and having his passion project versus 13 being delayed too much by wada taking all of his team (the kh1/2 team) off versus 13 to go fix ffxiv and then put them on other projects soured him on ever wanting to do anything new ff or a non kh project. also probably got tired of being put on many different projects for art/character/enemy design all at once can be taxing and tiring for him also souring him on wanting to do new stuff. like he was susprised to find his name as director for ff7 part 1 when the trailer first revealed for the remake. i think like you said he wanted to be done with all that and more. which is why he was just producer for rebirth or just generally wanted to be hands off and focused on ML and KH4. then ML Situation also probably soured him too getting cancelled and yanked. the man talked bout retirement already. like he dont think he could do kh5 and kh6 from the sound of it. like he could think kh4 would be contained and end at it and leave it there?

Management definitely wasn't kind to Nomura and a lot of Final Fantasy during the PSP/DS and PS3 era.

alot of it can be wada's fault. now its just the younger current ceo thats into blockchain nfts fucking up square enix left and right with his wrong decisions. he almost put his obession with nft into any of the games and thanksfully there was no blockchain nfts in any released games

Unless the KH franchise ends at KH4 (which I doubt) then yes I fully expect someone else to run KH5 to KH6 assuming the franchise gets that far of course

KH is likely to end as a series for a long time when nomura retires

Probably will be revived or have a handful of spinoff games afterwards

But for the foreseeable future after 5 kh is likely done

I firmly believe square changed its thoughts on kh as a major ip between remind and now because post remind they were talking about alllllll this stuff coming down the pipeline, with 3 being the end to but the first saga in kh

I dont know how much they value their relationship with disney but it could be a reason to keep going, it gives them a reach with a different public

Like I'm not saying I don't think Square cares about KH, I think they do, but, man it sure feels like they don't care what happens to it.
