So Shinji Hashimoto is at gamescom. That seems very suspicious. Not expecting too much but I don't remember him being present before in terms of KH3.
Merilly repliedI don't think he's been seen yet, though that doesn't mean much. Though he doesn't always need to be there for new information to pop up. Doesn't need to be a trailer but perhaps an interview or something. After all, he wasn't present either when they revealed 0.2's opening.
ITzDarthLordRevan repliedSomething tells me he's there for interviews or to at least to give us some sort of bit of information on the game.
Merilly repliedWhich would be completely sufficent for me. I'm not expecting anything grand but an interview of some sort would be nice. Otherwise I can't imagine why he would come to Europe... The gamescom is a really large convention but Europe is not exactly considered as worthwhike most of the time for whatever reason.

My uncle's company has a water cutting machine and his employee made wooden components for my Destiny's Embrace. He said I could go into mass production if I wanted to since I gave them a pattern which they scanned. It's much more convenient than modeling paste...

I'm none too happy about KH3's demo being in an open area at gamescom with no real lines. That could end up in chaos and I don't want to be burried on the massed and have countless people cutting the line again like with the demos of 2.8.
Oli repliedknowing how extremely childish this fandom can sometimes be, that's definitely something i'm worried about
Merilly repliedNot only this fandom but quite a few people in general don't look out for others and are extremely self-centered. And since I'm only 5 feet tall, I easily get swallowed by the masses and get shoved around a lot. It was the same back then and I don't see the point sonce people will have to form a line anyway. Why not do that in an orderly fashion managed by the staff even if it means standing a while?

Less than 2 weeks until gamescom and I'm only halfway done with my cosplay. That's gonna be close...
Merilly repliedThank you! Too many firsts this time.
I'm cosplaying as Kairi, though as a Red Mage. My friend is doing Aqua as a Black Mage and another Naminé as a White Mage. -

I can't believe that my friends and I may be attending Japan Expo next year. That would be our first convention in another country.

I still can't really warm up to KH3's theme song Oath/Chikai. The rhythm, the lyrics and the general atmosphere really bother me. Luckily, it's only one song, but I dislike all the trailers throwing it in at some point now.
TheKingdomkid repliedYeah I agree that it is being a little over used. This is also different from how the music that Utada usually sings as well, the whole album is actually different from how she normally sings like how the songs are more slow and has some what of a more darker tone. Kingdom Hearts 3 being the end of the Saga and also going to have the darkest story of the games it could work
Merilly repliedIt could work, but despite everything dark, it will hopefully still be KH and that always had this underlying hope. I still think there might be a better suited version for the opening, because this kinda kills the suspense for me a little. It's not even dreadfully dark but rather melancholic and thus a little boring for me. Sounds more like a love song about losing someone dear than the intro to the final clash in the Xehanort saga. But it's okay if people like this tone.
Merilly repliedI'm not trying to ruin it for everyone who enjoys this type of music. But it's interesting that you say that not only this song is different compared to what she usually sings but the entire album. I'm not exactly a fan, despite thinking she's a good singer overall, so that's good to know. Makes me think it may not have been requested to be this gloomy.

Somehow this trailer killed my hopes for both Treasure Planet and Atlantis. Considering I like both more than Pirates of the Caribbean, I'm a bit disappointed they chose that movie. (Everything was also heavily overlighted, wasn't it?)
itsDON repliedYeah I also feel lied to because I'm fairly certain Nomura said the worlds in KH3 would be new Disney Worlds
Merilly repliedHe didn't say there would only be new Disney worlds, he only said they would not reuse existing maps. They didn't lie and I feel the word is rather strong. I just dislike POTC in KH and feel there would have been better choices...

Now that I'm done with God of War, I want to play something else to shorten the wait. I am interested in Detroit: Becomr Human but the game is still too expensive. There's more to choose from than I thought...

Not sure how to feel about that allegedly datamined KH3 Kairi outfit from Union Cross.
RikuFangirl2008 repliedI hate that too. Datamining. Leaking. I wonder if she's getting a haircut too. If that happens at least we'll see her in the new outfit and possibly a new haircut.
Merilly repliedI don't mind it for minor stuff. Of course the software shouldn't be tempered with but seeing some unused areas in the franchise was fun for example. But this whole leaking information thing when it does not really give us an advantage... In the end, it might even have repercussions. Maybe not for us but for the people working for the company for example. And it's not like it can be avoided so easily.
Merilly repliedI don't want to judge anyone or point fingers, claiming that this is atrocious behavior since some people enjoy it, but personally, it was a bit of a bummer, similar to how Monsters, Inc. got leaked because the trailer did not have the same impact and some people don't tag their stuff. (Though in this case, the leaks were made public due to SE's own fault since they put it on a public server...)

One of the things I don't like is how the walls glow to indicate you can run up on them... It somehow disturbs the beautiful environment and I would wish for something more subtle. Or maybe an option to turn that off and just let people try themselves what they can use. The sparkles are okay but I've seen almost an entire part of the screen have this wave-like glow effect and it's not pretty.
Green Sparrow repliedTHANK YOU! Completely agree. I don't mind it in Olympus, but when Andy's ENTIRE room looks like it's on sonar, we have a problem.
Merilly repliedI saw that too in Andy's room and that's where it got really bothersome. I'd rather walk head first into walls with nothing happening to try it myself than have everything light up unnaturally. I hope the people who were at the premiere also took notice of that so SE knows it's not exactly the best solution. I'd even ne fine with what you suggested with the one time glow and then that's it. It's not like people won't try anyway.

So May 18th the embargo will be lifted for the people getting to play KH3 early. That's going to be fun to read.
Merilly repliedI don't watch that many of them to be honest and not every video. ^^' But I'd find it a little unfair of they are the only ones allowed to. Did they say anything about that? For example, I really liked the analysis of the minigame trailer by NihonScribe, so I hope ths news site people also get the same privilege. Thanks for the information though, you two. That's good to know.
Merilly repliedYeah would be weird. Though I guess we'll just have to wait and see, especially since there are only a few days left. I don't want to pester anyone attending for information or have them accidentally break their NDAs. That's not in my interest just for some little tidbit of information. They probably don't know that much either and I'm just glad actual fans get to go and not solely some random press representatives.

I really hope SE will have their own Press Conference at E3 this year if Sony plans to repeat last year. That was atrocious to watch because it was only a line-up of trailer after trailer and not even a conference...
Merilly repliedAs I said, I don't want to have a talk show, but I see E3 as a show in itself. A show where you get some background info on some of the games, not all of them, and give people the chance to write about that. To be honest, I didn't remember half the games which were in that conference because they just bombarded us. Why not show people playing the game on stage again? A few short interviews like with Roy Conli, etc?
Merilly repliedI'm not gonna lie, I know we are all inadvertedly waiting for the trailers, but if it's done correctly, a show makes those gamss a lot more memorable and enjoyable to watch. In last year's case, it waa a listlessly thrown together mix of trailers that had people leave the room because they did not want to spend their time like this. SE had a good conference in 2015 in my opinion. It had people hyped and cheering. D23 Anaheim last year, too.
Merilly repliedMy friend and I did not care for everything that was said or done but we had a fun time watching the D23 stream, commenting on things, etc but the same did not hold true for E3 last year in Sony's case. I agree with you, Hero of Winds, that these presentations can also be horribly boring. But I want to see at least a little effort put into the arguably most important gaming event of the year and not just an hour of advertisements which gave no game some spotlight.

I think I will. To be honest, Fire Emblem was never a favorite of mine. There wasn't a single game which stood out among the rest or made me think woah, this is great. They aren't bad, of course, they just strike me as something I wouldn't remember among the titles which really got to me. I dunno, maybe it's tbe style? It's rather cute and nowadays everything needs to be dark and edgy to be considered profound.
Merilly repliedThat's really stupid. Something with a cuter style can also be incredibly profound. I mean look at KH. There's a lot of cute and fluffy stuff in there. Or also Disgaea. Some games just don't really get any recognition, as sad as it is. It also feels like it's totally random at times. Or maybe the cause is that so many cling to sequels which aren't really sequels but the marketing is easier if you add a well known name plus a 1,2,3 behind it. <_<
Cyber Shaman repliedOh you want to talk about games with cute art style? Play The Witch And The Hundred Knight. It may look innocent but it's the most depressing JRPG ever made. The ending made me and most of my friends cry.

You know.... You're a better writer than you think. I instantly drew the connection between a certain Quotev account and this one. Gotta say it, though, I really enjoy your story.
Merilly repliedI really shouldn't write under the same alias that I use on other pages.
'But thank you for the compliment. I just tend to be a bit self-conscious because I know there are so many people out there who have a more diverse and mesmerizing style and also better ideas. But it still means a lot to me that people enjoy my work.

Looking at the completion numbers of the worlds, I can't help but think that 2018 is very optimistic. They made considerable progess, no questions asked, but now that the models look a bit better, the lighting is suddenly off and colors are overly saturated. I'm not trying to be overly negative 60-70% and an unknown percentage for the last section appears like they'll have to rush to release it this year.
Merilly repliedMan, my 2am grammar. *I wouldn't mind if *it's not like they could simply and the first post is missing a 'but' before 60-70%.
Nero Kunivas repliedWell of course, though to be fair, FFXV isn't all that bad. It could've been worse, like another game that was stuck in Development Hell...Duke Nukem: Forever ring any bells?
Still, I'm not getting myself hyped for KH3. I'm looking forward to it, but I'd prefer to be surprised by what it may have to offer.
Merilly repliedIt was far from bad. What I'm referring to are the immense holes in the plot. Granted, they more or less started over and only had 3 years in the end, but you could definitely see that it could have used some more time so it wouldn't have felt so incomplete. And adding all that stuff later as paid DLC isn't exactly my cup of tea. I see the reason for DLCs and I'm not strictly against them, but I don't like getting story relevant stuff through them.

What's worse than EX medals having no mercy is when they're barred behind VIP quests. What the heck, SENA?
TheKingdomkid repliedAt least you know you are guaranteed to get one it only cost $15 not like that's any better..
Merilly repliedIt's worse. First of all, the maximum you can get is 7. Which is not a lot if you have the money. Then you certainly don't want only one unorbed copy but some traits alongside it. And what about the people who saved up for this medal in particular? It's a huge slap in the face, especially since that one wasn't really necessary at all.
