    Give it a bit of time and you may find a way to work with her. I've known a few people who do it, but they've either stopped or are coming off of it. They usually have some sort of problem that cuts deep on its own.

    If you can get her to talk on it, she may slowly come off of cutting the more she vents out.

    Typically those who do it cause they want to be caught (they want someone to take notice in their emotions, and if people aren't figuring that's somethings wrong in their manner and normal conversation, they try to get them to notice through actions so they'll ask what's wrong), those who do it in hidden places, the stomach, the neck, the thighs, don't want to get caught, 'cause they know people would try to stop them and they get a release from doing so.

    Just remember that you can't get someone to stop immediately. It takes time, but the more they come off of it, the less cuts you'll see.

    Nah, this is a problem even desktops can get. I'll give delicious tea to anyone who can stop iexplore.exe from consuming my machine's entire memory and usage. I'm typing this on another computer, researching, while my own laptop is straining under the weight of a third virus scan--I can't so much as open an internet browser without it being too much to handle.
