    Might still be too early to say, but Snake Eater is shaping up to be added to my list of favorite games. I'm not even that far into it, but I've just got that "this is going to be an amazing game" vibe... hopefully it lives up to my gut feeling.

    I've been told that playing the games in order of release is the best way to do it, so when I'm done with MGS3 I should go into MGS4, and then Peace Walker after that, right?

    Well Kaweebo's answered it but I feel I should add you might wanna skip Portable Ops, if you weren't planning to since it's essentially been removed from the canon.

    Peace Walker's my personal favorite, Paz being one of the reasons, so I anticipate GZ/Phantom Pain will be my new favorite cause more Paz, naturally better gameplay and more character fleshing out (and more Paz) so all I can hope for then is a great story and this is MGS so nothing to worry about there.

    Yeah I had no plans to go into Portable Ops. Only playing the games seen fit to be included in the Legacy Collection.

    I have heard many good things about Peace Walker. I remember it being highly praised when it came out.

    Has Paz been confirmed to appear in Phantom Pain? I don't think I saw her in the trailer...

    For good reason, that game is a definite top 5 for me (PW, I mean)

    Well she's in GZ, it's mentioned in the first trailer that BB has to go rescue Paz and in the second trailer you see her (with a very boyish haircut) getting what looks to be a bomb pulled out of her stomach, while she's awake. Ouch. Whether she survives into Phantom Pain is anyone's guess. Doesn't seem likely though.

    I disagree with Winner's Proof. You should watch the cutscenes of Portable Ops on Youtube. Most of the things that people think are wrong with Peace Walker's plot in relation to MGS3's is the confusion as to how Big Boss gets to where he is. Portable Ops helps explain that. So, at least skim through the story.

    Yeah that was Paz. xD Few people believed it until it was finally confirmed. The lack of boob size didn't help matters but yeah that was some intense stuff! I also think that blonde kid who "curses his fate" is Liquid as a kid but that's just me.

     

    @Kaweebo: I feel MGS3 does a good job of explaining that. Portable Ops does help ever so slightly but MGS3 tells you all you need to know, if not so explicitly.

    I might look into P.O eventually, maybe in the downtime between playing MGS4 when I'm done with Snake Eater.

     

    I do wonder if Raiden/Jack the Ripper is going to show up, since the whole thing takes place right around the time he was a child soldier, right?

    I'd advise you read this article, if you're interested. http://mgsforums.com/blog/entry/4118118/4096/ Though Hideo Kojima 'does not look back on it' it has never been explicitly stated as non-canon and as the article points out, it actually makes more sense if PO is in canon.

     

    Also, Eli is most definitely Liquid Snake. He's blonde, the "Curses his fate" thing, and the fact that his VA will be English. He's Liquid, no doubt about it.

    Wait, what? His VA will be English? OK, Liquid confirmed. A bit odd since Liquid doesn't actually train with the British forces (I forget the official name) until he's a few years older but Kojima is known for his retcons.
