    Why does knowledge not follow the rules of science and diffuse passively from textbooks (high concentration of knowledge) to my brain (lower concentration of knowledge). Instead I have to expend energy (ATP) to actively extract knowledge from textbooks.

    I've always asked the same question. Like why can't we faceplant the textbook, leave our face there and have osmosis help out with the knowledge diffusion process.

    I tried that, but perhaps the pillow was not a permeable surface of which the knowledge could pass through.

    Not really if we consider that the pillow is a selectively permeable membrane. Blame the blame the io- I mean knowledge channels for not working xD

    On a more serious note, it could be for many reasons. The most common reason probably being that your dog has an upset stomach. A natural remedy for dogs is simply eating grass and is perfectly fine because dogs have stomachs capable of eating small amounts of flora.
