Everyone calls Sora the "Keyblade master"

Posted

After playing through Kingdom Hearts Final Mix & Sora's story in Re:Chain of Memories I've noticed people call Sora the "Keyblade master" so much. I knew people like Goofy did but everyone does. Even Organization XIII members call him the "Keyblade master".

But if memory serves me, no one calls him the "Keyblade master" in Kingdom Hearts II, but they call the Queen "his majesty".

I know,I noticed that too. I kept saying "back when Sora was THE keyblade master. remember? one? only one!"

The Queen is the one who sent Pete away. Birth by Sleep.

Did they know that when they said His Majesty?

I kept noticing that, too. It was nice reliving the good old days...when there was only ONE keyblade wielder, it really had a lot of meaning. Now having a keyblade is not as special as it once was.

"Keyblade master" (note the lower caps) was initially "Keyblade hero" in Japanese.

As for the whole "who banished Pete" stuff-up, I'm told the KH2 scene used a gender-neutral term (again, in Japanese).

And this didn't get in the English version WHY?

And basicly EVERYONE has a Keyblade in KH now: Bad enough when KAIRI got one, now LEA? Who next, Daisy?

* realizes that is possible* O.O

There is bound to be some miss-interpenetrations during translation, its just one of those things. Although it does explain the whole Mark of Mastery thing in recent games.

Can't really fault them for the misdemeanour it was back before the concept of a Master was canon. I suppose it's not incorrect to say Sora "masters" his Keyblade!

As for the Pete thing I know its a translation snaffu but in BBS Donald and Goofy weren't even present and I'm sure Mickey would've authorise the banishment.

One of the funniest quotes:

Sora: Come'on I'm the Keyblade Master

Donald: I don't care who you are

I think Chip and Dale are going to be the next Keyblade masters if he keeps this up.

Just like Dragon Ball where at first only Master Roshi was able to destroy the Moon at first and then fast forward 30 episodes or so everyone could

This was before they dumped all plans to deliver a at least somewhat coherent consistent and logicalstory aftwr kHii.

Nomura seems to include too much fandom service lately. Fans love axel, so let's bring him back as lea the keyblader. xP

Come on!

How about letting Walt Disney Animation studios do a cooperative movie?

Glenn Keane and Nomira working on a 2D/3D hybrid kh movie wuld be heaven!

I agree with the idea of animation hybrid.

Yes, they were talking about me. (that's where I took my nickname from)

English KH is full of mistranlstions.

That's why I stick to Japanese.

What?

What?

What what?

After Re: Com, having a Keyblade wasn't so special anymore.....

I say Donald and Goofy were wrong officially. As in they thought it was the King because time warped the memory.

i noticed the same im currently playing through khfm for the trophies

You don't understand it was up to interpretation and back then no one knew the game would spawn sequels and a complicated storyline. Sora at that time was considered a Keyblade master and the one and only up till KH2/BBS where all of that was retconned.

Now they just correctly identify him as a keyblade wielder in the current games. Yeah they could have fixed it in 1.5, but that meant redoing all those voiced lines, which I am not sure they could have.
