I've heard a lot of negative criticism and theories about the guy's voice acting, and I don't get it at all. His voice has sounded exactly the same to me since KH2 and I think people are making a fuss over nothing. I'd like to hear some more perspectives on this from you guys. 

Sounds good to me, especially if you hear his normal voice.

Your post is so out of context to what you're referring to.  Overall, Haley's performance is good.  You failed to mention the fact that what you're referring to was only Sora in KH3D.  If you're going to go from a stream to the forum to rant about something, why cut out details?

I'm not ranting, I'm posing a question. For your information, I've been through this discussion way before the stream. I'm just curious as to what more people think. Even in the stream, people were talking about his work on games like Re:CoM and Coded alongside 3D.

 

Besides that fact, I'm interested to hear opinions on his work overall so that it isn't just directed at 3D itself.

Alright.  Perhaps I jump to conclusions too much.

 

To give my own, serious opinion, I think Haley is great for Sora.  Re:CoM is just a strange case where he didn't try to sound like a young Sora which is obviously going to cause some debate among people, but it really doesn't bother me much.  As for 3D and Coded, I just feel like his attempts to imitate a younger Sora weren't really the greatest.  It's not like that's really his fault, it just seemed a little, well, forced.  Does that make him a bad voice actor all of a sudden?  Of course not.  He still can pull off Sora pretty much flawlessly in the more recent cases, so I think it really doesn't matter.

Awful in Kingdom Hearts, fantastic from Kingdom Hearts II onwards.

His performance as Sora was really really good especially in KH1 when he was young,his voice in KH 2 was great but his performance started to go a little bit down in Re:Coded and DDD since it's been 4 years since he voiced Sora in Re:Chain of Memories in 2008 before he comes back for full audition in DDD in 2012

 

ReCoded didn't have lots of cutscenes so I didn't count it that much

His performance in DDD was... I don't know. I think he was trying way to hard to match his current voice with Young Sora, even when he was portrayed as the older Sora. Otherwise, fantastic.

I don't really like his performance in Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts II has spanish voices... But I don't dislike his voice in the other games.

he is an awesome sora. thinking about it every kh VA is awesome. except terras english VA . that guy was ridiculous , especially compared to the japanese one who was just outstanding.

I heard somewhere that Square changed the leads of the voice acting - the people who control it.. We can all notice his voice change in Kh3D, but he sounded so normal on BBS.

I hope he keeps doing the normal voice and not force it and... if a day comes that he is WAY too old for the character, he can still voice Vanitas?

I have no problem with his voice (or any of them to be honest..), I wouldn't want to see him replaced or anything but going from KH1FM in 1.5 to Re:COM its like

TBH I don't really care for his performance in KH2. The lines sounded a bit weak to me. A little better in other games though, but to me he was perfect in Re:Chain of Memories.

He is not a bad voice actor in my opinion. I like his voice and I like him as Sora.

Honestly, if I ever have to hear him voice younger Sora again, I'll go nuts because it sounds and looks really weird. His performance in the 1st game was great, it really made Sora look like a kid who has no experience but then in KH2, he sounds and looks more mature, which was great for character development but then he started doing voice acting for younger Sora and it was weird seeing that 14 year old kid with such a mature voice. Also, I hope they can actually progress from DDD and NOT make another game about younger Sora.

I think he sound pretty good,especially since KH2.

I've always liked his voice never had any major problems with it

He does the best he can, sure his voice acting is weird in Re:CoM but that game was released after KH2 so he was hardly going to sound 14 again.

He did great as Sora all the way through the series. So, I have nothing negative to say. 

I think Haley does a great job voicing Sora. The only time it didn't sound as well as I thought it would be was DDD. Though I appreciate his effort to sound younger, it felt a bit forced and a step back from the Sora we last saw in KH2, heck even in the end of BbS.....it didn't flow. Even so, I still love listening to his voice through Sora and can't wait to hear him in future KH events ^^

He is the perfect Sora, in my opinion. The only thing I wish would be that his real life sister, Emily (know as Lily on Hannah Montana), would join him in Kingdom Hearts.

He's fine in all of the games, except maybe in KH3D. Though most of the voice acting in that was a little iffy.
