What Video Game Has Ever Scared You?

Posted

So have there been any games you've played that made you feel scared or jump out of your seat? Like, have you played any survival-horror games that just made your heart race out of fear? For me, the first game that ever scared the crap out of me was Resident Evil 2. Man back in the day, I was always scared to go into the rooms because of the zombies plus all the other monsters as well as those jump scare scenes.

I'm not a fan of horror games since most tend to rely on nothing but jump scares and they all just seem similar to me. However, Half Life 2's Ravenholm level scared the crap out of me. It's probably one of my favorite levels in any game ever just because of how perfectly they nail the desired atmosphere.

Most deliberate horror genre games don't really work on me, but the original BioShock was pretty damn unsettling. It got more than a few jump-scares out of me.

I tent to Avoid horror games at all costs but I did get scared in this labyrinth in persona q heh

I don't play many horror games because I get scared easily, but a funny scare happened to me once when I was playing a silent assassin game, known as Hitman Absolution. It was when I was addicted to playing the game every single day that I could, one night I couldn't sleep and so I just stayed awaken playing the game, and then the next minute I noticed myself feeling funny as though I was really jumpy and then suddenly out of nowhere, a guy with a gun appears behinds the main character and scares me half to death. Eventually I turned off the game and finally got some rest. The funny thing is though that the time was only a little after 7 or 8 pm, but of course this happened when I went to bed early because I just couldn't get my body to get used to the night change that happens in the winter. I guess I'm just weird sometimes, lol :P

Amnesia scared me a lot the first time through. I wanted to quit several times but the game itself was fun lol.

BioShock scared me too. The Splicers were creepy as hell, especially those Spider Splicers :<

Parasite eve and Resident 3 and 4 were pretty scary as i just felt scared to move any farther in the those games at times

Pretty much every single horror game I've ever seen or played has scared me.

I've never been legitimately frightened by a video game. BioShock freaked the hell out of me back in the day, but that's mostly because I was a really dumb kid who couldn't handle FPS games (It's like everything in the game is trying to kill me!!!), and that one level from BioShock Infinite with the Boys of Silence was creepy as hell, but not scary really. (Fallout 3 also made me feel completely hopeless and sick, but that's not really scared.)

P.T. It's only a demo, but that's the game I've felt the most unsettled while playing.

how has silent hill not been mentioned? silent hill 1, and 2 scare the crap out of me. The fatal frame games are creepy as well i like more psychological horror. Haven't tried PT yet but i am going to soon.

Tomb Raider 3 (The final boss)

Spyro: A Hero's Tail

Jak and Daxter

Ty The Tasmanian Tiger (When my brother was playing it years ago.)

Nightmare Before Chirstmas: Oogie's Revenge (When I first played "The Crypt Keeper" chapter.)

Those 4 games because of the spiders. I'm arachnophobic. I'm used to seeing the Spider Boss in "The Crypt Keeper" chapter in NBC: OR. But spiders still freak me out.

Resident Evil games as well as other Rated M games that I can think of, with Blood and Gore and Intense Violence. Despite my age, Rated M games freak me out. I don't know why but they do. When I look at the pain from these games, I keep flinching and holding myself tight.

(Like when a character slits another character's throat, I would hold on to my neck. That type of thing...) I just don't play any Rated M games in general because of this.

All of the no.

Swigging Swooty, Foxy's coming for dat Booty.

This game literally traumatized me. I had to sleep under the covers for days and I couldn't be alone in the dark without having a panic attack. I love the game though.

You aren't alone. I got scared, too. But i didn't hide under the covers. I just tried to sleep without looking into the hallway thinking the lights would go out and I would hear Freddy's tune and see his glowing eyes in the dark.

Silent Hill 1 and 2, Fatal Frame 2 and Resident Evil 2. Specifically in RE2 there was one door that if you opened it zombies would walk through during the opening door animation an that definitely scared the hell out of me because I wasn't expecting it.

This is the door I'm referring to, if anyone is curious. Jump to 3:25

I still can't go down the well in Ocarina of Time without bracing myself for like an hour beforehand.

Isn't that a bit off? Shouldn't it be in Fusion? xD

Anyways, Metroid Fusion has that damn SA-X -.-

Seriously, when it shows up, you'd better hope that you're not caught, or else you're dead xD

And, as mainstream as it may seem, Slender xD

Amnesia The Dark Descent, Amnesia Justine, Slender The Arrival (It's the music that really gets to me), the first two BioShock games (with the third I'm okay, because Troy Baker's voice soothes me so ), Five Nights at Freddy's...I swear those freaking jump scares....and I think that pretty much covers it for me.
