July 24, 201510 yr A remake is when you re-release a game again, a remaster is when you re-release the game again. Oh wait...
July 24, 201510 yr Popular Post Remake usually means they take the game and change the content while keeping the original in mind. For example, Metal Gear Solid was released on the original Playstation. Some years later, they did a remake of the game where they took the exact same game and made scenes better and added many new content not seen in the original.A Remaster is usually taking the same game and converting it to higher quality like a movie. Like for example, Metal Gear Solid 3 was remade into the HD collection where they took the same original game, neither added or removed content, and used better graphics for today's HD tvs.
July 24, 201510 yr Too bad I'm the only Sora on this thread. Other than KeybladeLordSora of course. Edited July 24, 201510 yr by soravids

July 24, 201510 yr It's like saying Chain of Memories -> Re: Chain of Memories are the same as Kingdom Hearts 2 -> Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix DLC and microtransactions are the same. Bush and Obama are the same. Earth and Kepler-452b are the same.
July 24, 201510 yr Random but I'll be serious. A remaster is when graphics, music etc. are simply upgraded to reach current standards. A remake is when a game is completely rebuilt from he ground up, coding, modeling texturing are all completely re-created without being based at all on the original build. Example, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster was a remaster because the look and sound was simply updated. The Final Fantasy VII Remake will be completely rebuilt from the ground up just like making a brand new game.
remakes and remasters are the same thing
