That's what I'm assuming as well. I don't believe its 3D.  I have a feeling that's what its about which I am so curious to find out.  o_o

I personally highly doubt Birth By Sleep Volume 2 will be in 2.9, as a game. Nomura always wanted to tell its story so I think we can just get flashbacks/cutscenes that were planned to be in the game and placed in either 2.9 or 3.

Yea cutscences at the most but I highly doubt we will ever see BBSV2 ever tbh. A all new game will push back KH3 big time compared to just remastering a  

3DS game. 2.9 is the exact number before 3. KH3D is the prologue to KH3. When you put two and two together.  

 

 Besides Imo BBSV2 will just never happen , along with that Riku game that Nomura wanted to make years ago but never got around to it ( One of the four untold stories along with coded/ re coded, 358/2 days and BBS) .  

I would really hope it would be, mainly because I think it has the potential to have a very rich and engaging story, but I don't know if I can believe that they have been working on V2 amidst all the other projects they have had.  I am not going to expect it, but I would love it if it were included.

I honestly don't think they have the time to create a completely new title, the main focus right now is on KH3 and that script is already being written alongside KHX, so they're already in the middle of creating two KH titles

 

If it's real it will probably be a HD remaster of existing games

I thought it was always on the table, never cancelled, but I'm not entirely sure.Anyway, I think it isn't that likely, but 2.9 is more likely to be DDD HD plus a demo, or an Ultima Collection + a demo/trailer.

They didn't cancel it because it was never anything to begin with, just an idea Nomura had.  Nomura has said he would like to tell it's story, but it is unclear whether he wants to do that through a game or some other medium.

I believe we could get a BBSV2 movie of some sort.

I'd rather that then KH3DHD.

If it is BBSV2, then I think it would make sense for it to be on Xbox One and PS4.

 

If 2.9 is just 3D HD + some other games, then I can understand it being on both PS4 and PS3, but new content on PS3 at this point would just be strange imo.

I believe it will. I think it's a great chance to put KH3DHD, KHUnX for consoles and KHBBSV2 as ths cutscenes movie. Probably Nomura saw this as a chancr to tell the story without having to develop a whole game and since he wanted to tell it and after maybe watching the demand it had maybe he went for it. After all 3D and UnX would be only ports and BBSV2 only cutscenes. It's perfect because it wouldn't take them that much time

true...they even took the time to voice what little bit of dialogue there was for the localized release so maybe it is still in the cards. i feel like a BBSv2 can't add anything else to the series at this point though. Feels like we're right at the climax of the story and KH3 will fill us in on what it needs to. 

I don't think Birth By Sleep Volume 2 is 2.9, for the basic fact that Nomura himself said that the idea for the game had been scrapped, and said he would work on it some time in the future!  With all the work done in the HD ReMixes, X and Unchained X, and the current work on Kingdom Hearts III, I seriously doubt there's been room for work with Birth By Sleep Volume 2. But then again, who knows?  But for now, I think it's a remaster of KH3D with a KHIII demo.

KH2.9 will be KH3DHD Plus a bunch of cutscenes to set the stage for KH3.

 

I'm guessing KH3 will be somewhat drastically different to the previous games and they'll want to explain the differences possibly in the form of cutscenes.

Honestly I believe Birth by Sleep Volume 2 will never be made because I don't see the point of making that game if Kingdom Hearts 3 is in developing right now. In fact I have zero interest in Birth by Sleep Volume 2.

I think if they did make bbsv2 it would be on aqua and what happend after she fell in to the R.O.D. and all of what happend after bbs

Technically, that Riku game ended up being Dream Drop Distance. He's the one who grows and gets his redemption. But I agree with your statement of BBSV2. 

There's not even much to tell from Aqua's, Terra's and Ventus perspective after their clash with Xehanort, Vanitas and Braig anyway...

I'd be cool with DDD, Chi, and BBSV2 cutscenes. Too perfect to be true tho.
