What do you think about the Final Fantasy VII Remake trailer?

It's pretty good.

Even though I never played FF7 (only the beginning once because I don't have a memory card) I'm actually very excited for the game and I wish to play it!

I'm stoked to see it's going to be KH styled fighting, however I wish they stuck with turn-based because a LOT of people are going to be pissed off because of it. The only turn based game I only really like is Pokemon so I'm happy it's gonna be open, but again, a lot of people are going to be pissed.

Another thing, I hope Cloud is more like he is in the original FF7. Even though I never played it, I've been told he's more of a funny wise ass douchebag in the original, and since I know him more as the serious Cloud we all know he is now, I really want to see him be like how I'm told he was in the original FF7. Judging by how he talked about politics in the trailer, there may be a hint of the original Cloud somewhere but considering how he said he doesn't care in another part of the trailer it's kinda hard to tell. There may be a little bit of both.

I like how young he looks in the trailer, so maybe there will be some of the original Cloud in there.

Dissapointed by the battle system a bit really. Other than that I'm indifferent.

Fantastic! I thought the graphics might not be to my taste at first, but I'm really digging the overall art style. A good job of emulating the original without being a shot for shot replay.

It feels like Steve Burton as Cloud still can't emote, but... holy crap this actually looks really really cool. Not super duper ultra hyped for it, but I get the feeling I'll be much more excited for it closer to whenever its release date is.

KH is leaking into every FF (Nomura) game with the battle system. Which isn't a bad thing, really. Even though I might miss the turn-based system a little bit (If I could play the game in the first place).

i was pleasantly surprised to see a battle system similar to KH's. i still haven't gotten around to playing FFVII though. I want to at least play the original before the remake so I can compare and contrast the two games in my head. 

Overall it doesn't look like it's going to be terrible. Although is it just me or do Cloud's arms look a bit strange? It's probably nothing so who cares. 

What did I think of the trailer?

 

I thought it looked great. I'm glad they're going the KH ARPG route for gameplay. I want Crisis Core HD for PS4.

It's Cloud though. What do you expect? When he gets pissed he usually shows more emotion, but the dude's pretty cold most of the time. It's just his character. I desperately want information on whether or not they're including Cloud's crossdressing escapades in this version. (Probably not)

SO glad the turn system is slowly dying out! As for the game itself? GORGEOOOOOOOOOOOUS!!

 

I expected to see a pretty Cloud, and I GOT a pretty Cloud!! No complaints here!

He did sound a little less sulky than usual, though, so I'm hoping that's a good sign of getting classic Cloud back.

I, for one, am quite excited for it. I was pleased to see the that they gave it an action-based battle system, as well. I can really only go back to the ATB system with older games.

its been confirmed a while ago that cloud's crossdressing scene will be there

The presence of the Crossdressing Scene was confirmed a while ago.

 

 

Also, I have yet to see it, but I like the look of the Remake from the E3 Trailer.

You know, the reason I found out about this was because I saw this thread! I was with my best friend/soul brother Jonathan, and we watched the trailer together 4 times! The game looks insane! I honestly wasn't expecting anything on VII Remake till next year, so this was definitely a surprise!

I kind of expected a trailer for Final Fantasy at the event mainly because I knew they would have Square there at the event and if it wasn't KH they were going to talk about it would be FF. Honestly, I have never fully played the original, but I have always found Cloud awesome since I was introduced to him and saw him in KH! I am really looking forward to getting to play as Cloud in Smash Bros. But anyways, even though I haven't fully played the original version, I still think this trailer was awesome and I am looking forward to being able to get this game someday.

Looked incredible, really. Didn't expect them to show gameplay, and I love that they're going that route with the combat system.

It looks awesome even though I'm not really interested in the game, but since I've heard that this game is going to be more like kingdom hearts, I might get it.

I keep watching it. It gets me so hyped up, probably because I'm so invested in this story and these characters. The way everything looks is just perfect. Seeing AVALANCHE with full HD models and voice acting, Barret being a bit less hammy, that shiny Buster Sword... It's brilliant.

 

Everyone picking up on the little details? Cloud using his Braver limit, the "Defend" option in the battle menu, the fact that we can play as Barret (which by extension means we can play as the rest of the party in the game, like Tifa, Cid, Red XIII, etc.

I'm really interested in that one Shinra grunt that seems to recognise Cloud and tries to reach out to him, lowering his gun when he does. Cloud has a headache the moment he looks at him and runs away right afterwards, maybe to avoid remembering him. They recognised each other. Just think what other bonus details might get added to this to build on the characters and story.

I thought it was pretty cool! I'm glad the turn-based system is gone, as that was annoying at times. (Specifically at the Temple of Ancients. I'm looking at you, Frogs with your Frog Song ability.  :rolleyes: )

 

I picked Other Option, however, because I was kind of expecting a trailer to drop at PSX. Looks like I was right.

Let's hope Square focuses a lot of development on that to speed up the release! (As long as it doesn't take away from KH3, of course And seeing that they're ready to give a release date for FFXV in March, I would think development for that is wrapping up)

Yeah, a little, but not by that much. Maybe my expectations were too high because Steve Burton can emote when he puts his mind to it. Maybe I also shouldn't judge so harshly against a single line. 'Sides, FF titles generally don't have stellar voice acting to begin with.

Cloud's not really that cold, though. He starts off pretty apathetic, but that only lasts for maybe the first twenty minutes of the game. Then Cloud starts caring first for his teammates and then the world at large. Serious, yes, but not cold. He's even a little goofy at times. Steve Burton can emote when he wants to, but like you said, that's usually only when Cloud's angry. I was just hoping that voice acting oomph could be put into other emotions.
