Honestly, Ven originally being from the Chi era is about as likely as Maleficent being from that time, or Mickey, Donald and Goofy for that matter. He certainly wouldn't be the first character to show up in Chi in a time away from his own. /snark I forgot about that scene from the secret ending of bbs:fm and this is really has me thinking what other elements from bbs vol2 may end up in Chi. The scene with Kairi in Twilight Town seems possible now, I guess because there is so many places Chi could go right now. While I don't know if I agree with the specifics of your theory I am all for the general idea: Ven is asleep, the world of Unchained Chi is a sleeping world(?), therefore Ven is able to end up in the world of Unchained Chi. The relation between the realm of sleep, dream eaters, time travel, and the book of prophecies is key and I'm glad other people are theorizing about this. Welcome to the forums!

Dream Drop Distance Time Travel
keystrike replied to KeybladeMasterDeadpoolio's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
Headcanon: Time magic and dreams are tightly interwoven. Why? The rules for time travel (must have a version of yourself at the destination, must leave your body behind, you can only go backwards, and you cannot change events destined to happen) are precisely what you would expect with dream time travel (you can only dream to events of your past, you don't physically go into dreams, you can only dream real events of the past, and of course what you do in your dreams can't affect what actually happened). How are the two concepts interwoven? I don't know. There are a number of times in DDD when Sora or Riku explains how visiting the dream world is like going back in time (e.g. Pranksters Paradise, beginning of Riku's story and end of Sora's story). There are also instances of time travel (Sora and Riku back on destiny islands) that one would doubtlessly identify as a dream if it were not for some stupid convoluted plot points about Sora and Riku having to reset their experience to learn to wield the keyblade the right way. If I had to bet they are going to expand on this in Back Cover to connect the book of prophecies up with the datascape (note: The Grid, a digital world, is in the realm of dreams) and the realm of dreams (recall chirithy is a dreameater). I wouldn't count on it making any more sense then, but I'm betting it continues along the same themes. -
Sly has pants? Murray has pants? I can't tell with Bently.

What If the Secret Ending of KH3D Really Meant.........
keystrike replied to HikariYami's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
True nobody has been confirmed but the secret ending heavily implies her ability to wield will become somewhat pivotal in kh3. -
Its been a while since I've seen such a long post! Looks like it will be fun to read but I'll have to get to it later.

Is that supposed to be Sora and Riku?

Are you excited about the possibility of Kingdom Hearts Online?
keystrike replied to Lu Xun's topic in Poll of the Week
Not in the slightest, but I am curious what they think they can do. -
Kingdom Hearts 4?
keystrike replied to TheFrozenNobody's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
If they were going down that road and removed Disney it would be called TWEWY 2. Those aren't original characters but its a funny thought. -
Is it Worth Completing Final Fantasy X PS2?
keystrike replied to Shulk's topic in General Discussion
Can you even still sell ps2 games? Let alone those that are being remastered. I would wait for the remaster. There is not shame in not having completed the ps2 version, aside from maybe saying you did and then there is always the people who completed it way back when. -
Do you feel nervous if you have a test the next day?
keystrike replied to Lu Xun's topic in Poll of the Week
It really depends but I would generally say I'm a bit nervous. -
So, has anyone ever played this game before?
keystrike replied to bit's topic in Random & Forum Games
I think I heard somebody talk about the game. They said the fans are crazy! -
Just a thought I've had for a while
keystrike replied to Summers-Hero's topic in Random & Forum Games
This is the first time I heard that, but I have heard a number of time before that it has been confirmed family isn't important in kh. -
Let me explain a huge simplification on how I think time travel in kh3d went down: Time traveling and dreaming are nearly the same thing. It resolves nearly every issue the game throws at the theory. All the "rules" of time travel are the basic facts of dreaming: You don't take your physical body with you when you dream, you can dream of the past but only places you've been to or have heard of, you can't dream into the future, you can't change reality with your dreams etc. Combine this with some squishy notions on how dreams and hearts connect and other kh logicisms and things actually make sense. With this in mind why do I think they were dreaming. Well to be honest I think it is impossible to time travel in the manner most people think its done. However Sora and Riku "time travelled" was doubtlessly different from what XH did (which reminds me you never responded how Sora and Riku time traveled without discarding their bodies). XH could not change the course of history, so Sora and Riku could definitely not steal anything physical from the past. I can't find it but there was a poster that said something along the lines of dreams connecting to each other and that is how you get in; I'll pull that up later. They dreamed of the destiny islands because that is when their world fell to darkness so that is when it would have gone to sleep. That feels like a lazy way to dismiss Ursulas presence. Why wouldn't the raft have been there? It may just be me but I don't see any reasons aside from circular ones. While novels are second tier cannon, and the issue isn't resolved in the game, I read this passage doesn't need to be read that way so nothing is proven yet. Ehh, but whatever.

Sora and Riku didn't go back in time to the destiny islands in the way you described it. The game makes it perfectly clear that to do so one must first of all discard the body as Ansem SoD had done prior to the first game. Sora and Riku did not do this. Why do you think it looks like both of them are reliving their pasts? They didn't throw that scene in there where Sora and Riku wonder how far the raft can take them for nothing. Compare this to Ansem who did travel back in time. He had lost no sense of his current self nor his physical appearance. And no way can you be arguing that Ursula was there the night of the storm. When goofy said Sora and Riku travelled back in time he goofed. They sort of went back in time but it was by means of a dream. The dream stuff does get pretty close to time travel when you think about it. I wasn't saying the game took place in Sora's dreams (aside from Riku's story), I was saying (or at meant to say that) Sora and Riku's dreams of destiny islands connected them to the sleeping worlds. Finally you are saying the raft would not have been there even if Sora visit its location, but where is your evidence? There is no evidence as far as I know so why try to make a theory explaining it?

Fanmade KH3 Dearly Beloved
keystrike replied to Velvet Scarlatina's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
It has a real cinematic feel to it if that makes any sense. I wouldn't mind this being used in kh3 aside from the fact its being spoiled so early. -
NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Dream Drop Distance kicked Vol. 2 off the stage. Had Vol. 2 been made the two would be different games entirely. I'm a bit touchy about this subject.

KHRecoded Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded: Pointless or Pointful?
keystrike replied to 『R』's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
I would have to argue that, despite the happenings in KH3D with regard to the data worlds Recoded was more important to the plot before KH3D was in conception. Remember, through the original Coded's development and release KH3D had not even been in conception (perhaps it was one of many ideas floating around, but it was nothing solid enough to appear in any interview). The game centered around a pretty profound question at the time: Can something born without a heart get one? Back when the order was BBS/Coded->"Mystery Game" (Not kh3d, this was supposed to be BBSV2)-> (remasters?)-> KH3, this question was about as important as it Ansem's data itself. However since KH3D's release this revelation, among many others, have become redundant. Instead of considering Recoded's plot to be redundant next to KH3D, I consider how each game treated it separately and think coded did the better job in this regard. -
Do you like the new Art style in KH3?
keystrike replied to Reyn's topic in Kingdom Hearts III & Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind
I'm not totally sure what you mean by the "art style." Do you mean the engine its running on or just some wishy washy notions (for lack of better words) of the feel of it compared to the other games? I doubt the engine is going to change in any significant way. However I thinks its reasonable to assume that as a beta it will change some just like most others. I think the only reason it would be hard to accept the shinier graphics is that we are so used to the ps2 or lower level graphics. -
Wasn't that what Braig did. Sorry man, but you are going to be Xehanortified. I don't know what I would do.

A possible flaw in the Kingdom Hearts story
keystrike replied to Varnish's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
This is right. The whole DDD situation really doesn't change too much of the memory bit though. The situations with Terra-Xehanort and Sora becoming a heartless and nobody were both anomalies but that doesn't mean they were the exact same. Because of that I don't think there is enough of a connection to say that there is really any contradiction. Edit: Whooh! 1,000 posts! -
