The instructors and lecturers at university don't know everything and to be honest, most of mine don't care what the students do in their free time or even at university. One of my professors absolutely loves video games, even wrote a 500 pages thesis about them. You can't live up to every lecturer's expectations so don't feel obliged to change.

It is none of his business to tell you what to do or not do in your free time. So long as it's not hurting anyone and not interfering with your work then you should continue to do what you like to do. There is no reason to listen to him just because he doesn't like video games.

You keep playing. If you love it just do it. As long as u do the rest of your school stuff, who cares of what u do on our freetime.
