It’s a shame The Legend Of Korra had to follow Avatar The Last Airbender. It’s a great show but no one will ever see that because they consider ATLA to be without flaws and are always comparing both shows.
Green Sparrow repliedThe Last Airbender DEFINITELY has flaws, but it is also superior to Korra in almost every aspect. In Korra's defense though, almost all of problems can be traced to behind the scenes issues. So blame the creators and Nickelodeon I guess
PrinceNoctis repliedI just think that it’s like comparing apple and oranges. Both are fruits, both are round but you can’t really say which is better. Korra and ATLA are set in the same universe sure, but they aren’t trying to achieve the same things and they approach things differently. I think Korra can only be fully appreciated when you see it as it’s own thing and not as Book 4 of ATLA.
PrinceNoctis repliedI think Korra’s character arc is the best in the whole Avatar universe (yes, even better than Zuko’s, but that’s just my opinion) and the way it was used as the connecting thread of all 4 Korra books is genius. While Aang’s character arc was a part of the larger ATLA story, Korra’s arc IS the story (which is appropriate considering the series’ name) and so the way both tales are approached is completely different. This approach is both the strength and weakness of LOK. It gives a great charac...
PrinceNoctis repliedIt gives a great character arc for Korra, but the supporting cast ultimately suffers from it. Giving depth to supporting characters was probably ATLA’s biggest strength and since Korra doesn’t do that, people seem to think it’s a failure, when in truth, it was never the creators intention to create character dynamics akin to that of ATLA. They wanted the focus on one person this time, not an ensemble. Anyway that’s how I see it.
Green Sparrow repliedI... actually never thought of the ensemble that way! So hey, credit where credit is due, YOU made me appreciate LOK more
Green Sparrow repliedBut I must disagree with Korra's character arc (though I'd for you to convince me!). A big point in Season 1 was Korra reaching her lowest low (losing her bending, then airbending, then Aang fixing her). But then she loses Ravaa, then she gets poisoned (or something). IMO, every lesson learned at the end of a season, seemed to belittle the lessons from the previous season. And it makes Korra look like the dumb kid who keeps touching a hot stove.
PrinceNoctis repliedI see it differently. Korra was born on a pedestal, she had no trouble mastering 3 of the four elements, she was constantly protected and probably had advantages as the avatar. In the beginning she uses her title as a way to justify every single thing she does. In her mind, she’s the Avatar and so what she chooses to do must be respected. But she fails to understand what it means to be the avatar and that is why she goes through so much pain and suffering. They break her over and over until s...
PrinceNoctis replied... until she’s down COMPLETELY and that is when she is disillusioned and finally understands what she’s meant to be. They had to destroy every aspect of what she thought the avatar was meant to be (Bending, spirituality, authority) so that she could understand that although these things are important, being the avatar is truly about compassion and love towards yourself, others and the world. She also had to learn to find her place in a society that has lost respect for her title and tells he...
PrinceNoctis replied...and tells her her existence is not needed which is very relatable to a lot of people and makes her arc even stronger. Sorry for the long text lol

I'm guessing Andy's neighbor hood was 10% of the Toy Box at the premiere event, and all the other areas were 20%. I know I'm late, but I've been wanting to get this off my chest.

*breathes in* #StopWhiningForEUDubbingForKH3 #JustBeGratefulEUIsGettingKH3AtAll
VocaloidLover13 repliedI can understand them, but it really seems a bit difficult for the creators to afford this now. It's already good there's english dubbing and lip-sync as you said. Nonetheless, I wouldn't mind having only the original dub as long as I had the game on my hands
Merilly repliedI think it's okay to request it/make a petition and also to be disappointed that it likely won't happen but there's no need to be whiny or salty, especially because this is not the first Kingdom Hearts with no European dub.
I grew up with the German one and I can understand why people would want it, but I've gotten too used to the English one to abandon that now. Not to mention that there's no guarantee the dub would have been any good now. They would have to cast a l...
Merilly repliedlot of new voice actors, even for those who already had one, because they may not be available or suitable anymore. I think as long as there are subtitles, it's not that tragic. Yes, many games get a lot of dubs nowadays but not all of them are any good or have that many characters to cover. (Apart from NPCs getting two or three sentences.) Also, the budget may not allow for at least four more languages to be covered.

ienzo628 posted a status updatehttps://youtu.be/CPD3oa9auls. I have been thinking. If King of Thieves were to be in KH3. How cool would it be to fight against the thieves, a rampaging elephant and several Heartles while defending the guests at Al and Jaz's wedding?ienzo628 replied
I imagine it would be more cartoony especially with Genie using the elephant as a leafblower. Sweeping Heartless but you have to be careful, the collapsing pillars might fall on you or some Heartless and/or thieves might get sent smacking into you. I wonder if the PS4 can do that. I doubt KH3 will have Cassim.

If KH3 isn't Game of the Year, I'll donate $50 to Keemstar.
Merilly repliedI don't really likethese awards too much because the games which are usually considered can mostly not be compared to each other. Different genres, different focus and the criteria are really subjective too. I dunno, being GOTY doesn't really mean anything if you look at it. And we haven't even played any game for that year yet.
Fullmetal Keyblade repliedThat's absolutely right. GOTY is given out by numerous Magazines, groups, critics, and the like..and on top of that anyone can just slap "Game of the Year" on a cover and not many would be the wiser. However, there are outstanding games that are usually considered to be GOTY officially, or at least they recieved the highest consensus in voting across the medium. (Breath of the Wild in '17, Overwatch in '16, ect). I'm just crossing my fingers that KH3 is up there in the...
Merilly repliedYou're right and I'm not saying that KH3 doesn't have the potential to be up there as well, I just wouldn't bet on it because there are also other big games coming out which seem to be less niche. As popular as it has become, it still can't compare to other games in terms of how many people play them. Which is why I somehow doubt it will become GOTY. (And to be honest, both BOTW and Overwatch lost to plenty other games in their years in my opinion. Which is why I don't...
Merilly repliedtrust these awards as a seal of approval that this is most definitely the best game of the year.) Which is not to say they were bad, but it's where this subjectiveness comes in. Since I value a good story, both of these games were rather bland in that regard. Either way, you are right with your comment, I just think everyone should decide on their own and not overrate these awards. I feel like nothing positive comes out of it, except for the winning game.
Fullmetal Keyblade repliedI agree that 2019 will have a lot of games that will more then likely be received better than KH3...but I am hoping that it will at least accomplish what Persona 5 did last year and take people by surprise. We already know that it's going to sell well, at least nothing so far has indicated that it'll be a flop. The attention garnered this year along with promotion by Square will prepare KH3 for a good reception. If it can live up to the hype by satisfying fans and bringing in newcomer...
Fullmetal Keyblade repliedNewcomers then it has a very real chamce of being listed as at least /one/ of the GOTY's.
Merilly repliedI hope so too! I think KH3 already received a lot of recognition this year, despite probably never really losing some sort of prejudice from the people. I introduced my friend to the franchise about 2 years ago, and she admitted she also did not think she would come to love it so much. Even newcomers have a chance of enjoying it, tdespite recommending playing the other games first. I really hope it will live up to its expectations.

So, over the past two weeks or so, I binged Rick And Morty with my nieces, and I gotta say that the show is really something else! Can't wait for Season 4!
Fullmetal Keyblade repliedSomething else is right. I binged it too last year and it instantly shot up into my Top 5 cartoons
The Transcendent Key repliedYep! I like how it's an adult cartoon with ridiculous humor, but at the same time has an engaging story and awesome characters!
