    It's kinda funny how the best 2 Final Fantasy titles in the last decade are an MMO and a sprite based RPG coming next month that isn't even titled Final Fantasy yet carries the spirit and fun of the series more than some of the numbered titles ironically enough

    Octopath Traveler for the Nintendo Switch

     

    If you have a Switch you can download a demo that allows you to play 3 hours of each of the 8 character stories and carry your save file to the full game

    Ohh, yes, I've seen that one; it looks absolutely amazing. I don't have a switch yet, but between Octopath Traveler and FE Three Houses I'm tempted to get one. I just fear another console like the Wii U. :/

    Trust me the Switch is nothing like the monstrosity that is the Wii U.It's already successful with over 20 million units sold in less than a year,much better interface,much better hardware,no stupid gimmicks shoved down your throat like the Wii U's gamepad and best of all:Masterpieces like Breath of the wild and Super Mario Odyssey

    It also has a huge 3rd party support alongside indies so it's no longer the drought that was the wii u.

     

    I highly recommend one but I'd say wait till the holidays when Smash Bros ultimate comes out cuz I'm sure there will be lots of discounts for the system

    That's relieving to hear. I bought a Wii U and felt that it's life span was cut short, and only a handful of its games were really worth playing to me. There was a lot of garbage released for that console. And, like you mentioned, the stupid gimmicks were just way too much. I'm so glad to hear that the Switch is improved. I used to be a huge old-school Nintendo fan and really missed what Nintendo used to be about. I should really give the Switch a try. Thanks for the recomm...

    KH1 is the only KH game I own that I don't have the Ultima Weapon in... I've been at it on and off for three months now... tedious imo.

    The Final Mix version really made it a lot more tedious to obtain. I remember that it was fairly easy in the original game but quite a bit harder in FM.

    I can imagine. I don't mind spending some timenon these extra things but once it becomes a chore, it's not fun anymore.

    It's been relatively simple to get in everything else. With kh1 I feel like I always have the wiki open.

    Urgh I remember that. Dark Matter was sometimes a bit frustrating. At least for me. xD It may not have been for others but I always found the rather hard to get.

    Good luck with that! I always find these grinding type of quests a little irksome depending on the outcome and how it's done. KH has fun gameplay so it was still somewhat manageable but sometimes I also think it's not worth the effort for a post-game item. =_= Maybe it's the reluctance to spend too much time on a task that is only somewhat rewarding because there are so many games to play.

    Agreed. I like doing what I can, even give certain things several tries like secret bosses, but when it stops being fun and/or rewarding, I'll call it quits. A trophy is not really worth the effort if I can play a whole other game in that time and it's not even fun to achieve. For example, I simply can't stand most minigames.

    I don't mind minigames, except rumble racing... I usually beat the secret bosses and if I get stuck I look for "cheaty" ways of beating them.

    I don't know why, but they're the bane of my existence. I'm not even particularly bad at them, I just feel like they rip me out of the story.

    Same xD. I'm no pro and have polyneuropathy and epicondylopathy,so these "cheaty" strategies are really helpful. They still take a few tries but it's better than nothing. Only beat the Valkyrie Queen with that in GoW. >_<

    The only issue I have with minigames is when they're forced upon you in order to continue the story.

    I can't really get into gow, I think Kratos is cool, but nothing's caught my interest. It's probably just me.

    Same here. It would be alright if they're purely optional but the way BBS handled them was simply annoying. Especially Fruit Ball.

    That's understandable. To be honest, I did not think I would enjoy GoW this much since the previous titles were alright at best but I love character interaction the most, especially between family and friends and I thought that was actually rather sweet. But I can understand why it won't appeal to others.

    The only bbs minigame I really liked was ice cream beat, even then it's not great.

    I think that one was alright. Though I found it a bit jarring that you lost all ice cream on one of them if you made a mistake. For people lacking rhythm, this may have been the most difficult of the three. My friend had a lot of problems with that one in particular.

    If Yiazmat was a secret boss in KH3, how do you think he would be in terms of fairness? He'd be tough as Conan the Babarian, I know THAT much.
