    To be honest, I've tried to learn to like Coffee. I've forced myself to drink it on so many occasions, but I've never, ever gotten anywhere near to standing it without gagging. I've tried loads of types... I tried to learn so I could adult and not be rude when someone offers me some, but... I just cannot.

    No worries, not all adults like coffee. I do, but I wouldn't feel any less mature about it if you don't care for it. Kind of like alcohol. I don't drink, but I don't think that makes me immature just because most other adults enjoy it.

    Well, okay, black coffee IS an acquired taste. Before I trained myself to drink it black, I used sugar and cream (and later, just sugar) to make it palatable. Eventually, I weaned myself off it by using less and less sugar until I was able to brute force myself to drink it black.

    I've tried Iced Coffee, and Ice Cream coffee, and... each had that general taste of coffee that was too bitter, no matter how hard I tried to drown it with creamer or sugar or milk or anything. Sorry.

    Honestly I don't like iced coffee, either. When coffee is cold, I'm inclined to drink (eat?) it normally, which... isn't really suited for a flavor like coffee. Well, that or I just don't think it tastes good iced. You'll probably have better luck drinking it hot.

    But if you're training yourself, it helps to take it slowly. Take little sips and give yourself a break every so often, maybe with water or milk, but nothing sweet -- the idea is to get yourself used to bitterness.

    Have you tried frappuccinos? They resemble a milkshake to me, with some coffee'ness (for lack of a better word) but a lot of cream, sugar, and typically flavorings and whipped cream. I don't really care for iced coffee either; it seems foreign to me.

    I have. I've tried fraps, mocca, black, ice, latte, a bunch of stuff. They all have the same taste to me. It ruins the taste of the additives. Instead of Whip Cream flavored coffee, I taste coffee flavored whip cream.

    This just occurred to me: are you getting your coffee from places like Starbucks or Coffee Bean? If you do, then DON'T. Their black coffee tastes like crap (I should know -- I do it frequently), so I wouldn't recommend chain stores for a "beginner." If you can't even handle frappuccinos, you can condition yourself in the other direction: make hot chocolate or something and spoon a tiny bit of coffee until you can handle the bitterness.

    Keep yourself entertained with something like binge watching movies/shows, or a good video game. Anything that you really enjoy.
