seriously why does everyone think KH3 is gonna release in 2018?

Posted

It was just a rumor anyway if it was going to be released in 2018 we would've know this for months

I don't know if people actually think it's going to be released in 2018, I think it's just what people hope for.

Exactly. Most people hope for a 2018 release but aren't exactly sure that it will. But those hopes were not based on the rumor but rather on the possibility alone. It's not the unlikeliest release year, that's why people are thinking 2018 is not entirely out of the option. Which I agree to. While I don't believe in an early 2018 release, an end of the year release doesn't seem like wishful thinking anymore, though 2019 is just as plausible. Most people know that but of course they're wishing for 2018.

In most cases, they neger acted liek they knew. If you think back on its reveal, people were hoping for 2015/2016 and then 2017, so 2018 is the next year to hope for. :D And don't forget that SE tends to reveal release dates rather late in comparison to the game's announcement. FFXV and 2.8 both got their actual release dates about 6 months prior and were then delayed.

How is that the case? If the release was next year (which I'm not saying it is) there is no reason to think we'd know about it any sooner. If anything, right about now would be about the right time to announce a release date of late 2018 as it's usually announced a year and a half before actual release.

because it is a possibility. SE said themselves that kingdom hearts 3 is going to release within the next three years right? which means that 2018 isn't out of the realm of possibility

Considering the fact that The Last Guardian got a release date less than a week before it's release, it is very plausible that KH3 comes out in 2018.

But yeah, we're just hoping for it.

I said in my status we do not know for sure if we get a release window at D23 and if it is 2018. It would be great though. Nonetheless we have to see tomorrow when the livestream starts.

Because the game was announced in 2013 and 5 years is plenty of time to develop a game. Simple :)

1.5+2.5 released 5 months after it got announced. And almost every AC-game is released 5 months after it got announced. So it really doesn't matter that much.

A little fix! :)

And 2018 sounds the most logical year to release Kingdom Hearts 3. After all the Remasters, after the Re-remaster. and after 0.2 which gave us a great taste of how Kingdom Hearts 3 Will be. With as ending, the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 3.

Square Enix haved prepared us for Kingdom Hearts 3. Releasing Everything on the PS4 so we wouldn't miss anything, gave us practically a demo of Kingdom Hearts 3.

It wouldn't make sense to do that all and Releasing KH3 Later then 2018.

Sigh, guess it's time for another one of those "Why are people so stupid for thinking X-game was going to be coming out X-year" topics. Look the fact is that this is a cycle that every fan base goes through whenever a new game comes around that hasn't given any credible release info yet. No one is "wrong" for thinking that it may come out in 2018. For all we know, enough work has been done so far that it might be released in Winter 2018 at best. But given the current patterns of news lately, chances for that are looking slimmer and slimmer, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be that much later either (Early 2019 is only a couple months difference anyway). It's always "safer" to assume that the game will be released a bit later than expected, especially if it's a KH game, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't at least be making guesses about when things might happen while there's still a sufficient amount of time left to consider it. The D23 trailer tomorrow should definitely be a clear sign to help us get a better assessment over how far along things are and how much longer we may have to wait. Not necessarily because of a release date or window, but more because of the apparent state of the game and how much they're willing to share of it. Point is, I don't feel like it's necessary to rule out the potential year of release until the current year is almost over and still no sign of release info has been given. And it definitely isn't necessary to judge the other people who choose to remain optimistic until they feel that they need to switch their views much later on than you do, everybody is waiting for this game, and everybody is waiting in their own way.

Cause 2018 is then 13years away since KH2 :).

You know 4years is normal for production for a great game.

my thoughts exactly. Releasing a game more than two-four years after the demo released doesn't make much sense unless the game is having a harsh development time.

I say we just put it at 2020 and say that is the best estimation.
