Considering no command level ups, I say it's just as good as BBS.

Nothing beats BBS for me

BBS ftw!

Qutas suck sooo much

There were some aspects of BBS that I was hoping to see in KH3D, even so, I just can't compare the two, both of them were great games.

They were both great, but Birth by Sleep had more mind screws and suspension.

If not for the ability system and lack of good extra Bosses, I'd say they're equal. I'll have to say Birth By Sleep.

Their even on every plain of game reviewing. (plot, music, gameplay, fact that my system for both have been broken) I'd say they're even :D

BBS:

Pros

  • Three Characters
  • Compelling and moving story
  • Large amount of commands
  • Multiplayer that encompassed battle and two minigames
  • 10 worlds
  • Each character was drastically different to play as
  • Shotlocks
  • Great entry into the KH series
  • Revealed important secrets (like the main villain)
  • Established the command system
Cons
  • Slowed the story
  • Tedious grinding for all three characters
  • Some commands were overpowered
3D

Pros

  • Dive Mode was fun
  • Finally moved the story further
  • Flowmotion
  • Commands were slightly more balanced
  • Shared commands between Sora and Riku let gameplay go smoother.
  • Drop Bonuses
  • Dream Eaters were entertaining for gameplay and aesthetics
Cons
  • Only two characters
  • Confusing story for beginners in the KH series.
  • Less commands
  • Flowmotion may not be practical for the sequels
  • Lacked command fusion
  • Inability to unlock all abilities

Both were great games, but I loved Birth By Sleep more. I think the selling point was V/A/T because they provided such a contrast that Sora and Riku could not parallel.

I think BBS far outstripped this game, the worlds were better, getting commands was more enjoyable, the Keybaldes were better, and the plot was deeper throughout.

I chose 3D because...I think it is a masterpiece...but BBS sure was awesome. Still prefer KH3D but maybe because of the hype, I dont know.

I love BbS, but I definatly enjoyed DDD more; I felt more emotionally invested in that story more so than BbS's, and had more fun with the gameplay. x3

Story wise: BBS is the obvious choice

Gameplay: 3D improved upon BBS system, so obviously 3D

Verdict: Both excellent! But I am more of a story based person, so I would say that BBS has the upper hand for me.

I NEVER think a KH games is better or worse then any other KH game/s, i love both for different things, they are made differently, yet some of the same, its not comparable. just not period. but as far as i am concerned-

LOVE Kingdom Hearts

If there had been more secret bosses 3D would have beat BBS

Story wise, 3D doesn't stand up to BBS. Gameplay wise, 3D is quite a bit better.

No bbs was better in my imo.

Honestly, I thought BbS was just a bit better than DDD, but they were both equally great games!!

BBS is way better imo. It actually introduced new plot elements, had better music, and made me feel accomplished when I beat it.

I don't really like DDD, simply because of the fact that it solves little to nothing. Master Xehanort is back, whoopdie firetrucking do, like I didn't know that was going to happen? If BBS could complete the Mark of Mastery exam in one cutscene, Square didn't need to make an entire game for it. Just my two cents.

BBS all the way. BBS had a story with a start and a finish whereas 3D was a prologue that, in my opinion, wasn't rly even needed and could have been compressed in kh3. Gameplay-wise... hmmm I guess 3D since it added more things but I could care less abt the gameplay if the story doesn't satisfy me. Not that 3D was bad, just not needed.

since Birth by Sleep had the easiest bosses in the entire series and since I thinl it's a little bit overrated.

My vote goes to KH3D

All though i love both, kh 3d is a bit better cause of better gameplay and type of some hidden plot. ( Example: when you unlock a world keyhole its much more than just wakin it up ) Riku sealed a keyhole and Lea woke up. So for me goin to RoS was essential and mandatory.

For me DDD was better...

Terra and Aqua have been training their whole lives for that one cutscene(mark of mastery).Sora and Riku never had someone to train them, they were self taught keyblade weilders....That's why they had to make entire game for it.
