I understand why he wants kingdom hearts. I mean, it sounds pretty awesome. Also he believes that light and dark should exist in balance. Sometimes, i think the light tries too hard to snuff out the dark and think that they should co-exist, just like MX thinks. Maybe he doesn't go about it the right way but... i think he has a good overall idea.

Yeah...Xehanort has been pretty cruel about making his plans become successful. Terra, Aqua, and Ven are perfect examples of it.

I also like the idea of light and darkness in balance and it sounds a lot better than everything just being light. But when it comes to Xehanort, I think Caity Raindrop is right.

Here's a fun question: When has Xehanort, aside from a few words, ever actually made an attempt to balance out Light and Darkness, instead of just using Darkness and Darkness alone?

Well it's his methods that are wrong.When you see things from the point of view of someone who is 'evil' you'll notice at some point that their reasons for doing what they do can seem very right and justifiable, but, in the end, it's the way they try to achieve their goals for which they must be stopped

yeah maybe i worded the question wrong. MX tends to kinda... mess with people. Still, i like his idea though, and really hope we get to see kingdom hearts in KH3. I think Riku's got it good. Balancing light and dark to some extent. 

Yeah I think that his methods are evil but when you think about it his objective isn't that bad.

Reminds me of the "A World with No Boundaries" organization in Ace Combat Zero. Their intentions are actually reasonable, it's just the way they try to achieve it is bad. Same can be applied here with Baldy.

In the realm of darkness there isn't much light, and when someone or something of light goes into it they get attacked like Aqua did. The same thing happens when darkness comes into the realm of light, Sora and the other wielders defeat it. It is a balance as it is.

Xehanort's plans and goals are necessarily bad. Like the stated purpose of the 1st Organization XIII give in KH2. It is the methods used that taints the goals.

As for why Xehanort uses darkness, if I remember right, he thinks that light is overbalanced as it is. His use of darkness helps balance things. Plus, in order to be one (or all, in his case) of the XIII Darknesses, you got to use the stuff. It is easier to make sure a war happens when you are controlling the side who starts it and are least likely to play by the rules.

He views human life as just a toy, Terra, Aqua, and ven are perfect examples. Ruined 3 peoples lives, doesn't care one bit.

so there are 3 realms, if you dont count the world of Kingdom hearts. They are, the realm of light, realm of darkness, and the realm in between. Kingdom hearts seems like the realm where dark and light would coexist. I think thats what MX wants (kingdom hearts), and i dont see why the side of light doesnt want that as well

But in order to achieve his goals he wants to basically cause an apocalypse by plunging everything into darkness and essentially killing everyone in order to create a new world/universe the way he wants. Nothing like committing mass genocide for the 'cause' to prove what a great ruler/leader you will be . Not to mention all the lives he ruined to even get there like TAV and other innocent people.

Well... If he had candy in his out stretched hand, I'd have to say he looks like a good guy.

He risks the destruction of all the realms... He's not clichéily evil, he's just curious, but the way he executes his plans have malevolent results.

Master Xehanort is honestly one of the best antagonists that I know of. You're absolutely right, he's fighting for something worth fighting for. He's driven by a very human, very realistic desire for knowledge. If you read his reports in BBS, you can even see how he begins with morals, how he feels sorry for what he did to Ventus (if I remember right), but as he dabbles more in darkness, he loses his morality and begins to act more single minded and evil. He plays off of and takes advantage of the gullibility of other characters. He admits his mistakes, and tries new tactics. I also give him points for being so persistent. 

 

In the end, like other people are saying: It's not what he's fighting for that's evil. It's how he goes about it. That's one of the main differences between him and Maleficent- Maleficent is obviously being evil and knows she's evil, but Xehanort seems to honestly believe that he's doing what's good for the world, but doesn't care enough about others to care about all the lives he's trampling on. Or perhaps he does care, but uses his good intentions to justify his wrongdoings in his head.

Yes. I also see another form of balance, even in the Realm of Light. True, Light is more powerful, but darkness is more plentiful. There seem to be more Heartless in the RoL then normal people, let alone people capable of fighting them.

I see what you mean but lets not forget, the reason they gave was a lie created by Xemnas to get them to gather Kingdom Hearts. Yet another example of Xehanorts evil.

4 if you count the Realm of Sleep. It still exists after all, and there are more worlds there then the ones we saw in DDD.

 

So yes, Xehanort is a bad man. He tramples on people hearts and doesn't give a damn.

I don't think he is evil, just "a bit" extreme

 

He wants to find his answers - his goal - so he does everything he can. He is like Sora. Both won't give up, no matter what they have to face.

Indeed, Sora tries not hurt anyone, but as you can see: His actions did "hurt" some people. Just look at Riku and Roxas - it was not directly his fault but he had to do with it.

 

...plus, I really want to know if the Guardian has anything to do with it...

He definitly has good intentions. But does bad actions. 

Yes! Just look at all the bad stuff he's done just to try and get what he's after!
