Why do people like terra so much I tried to like him but couldn't

Because he is slow in BBS?

Nothing to do in gameplay I just don't know something about him I don't like?

You're guess is as good as mine. I find him remarkably bland.

Yeah... Terra was never my favorite. There wasn't much character development with him. He was sorta bland. Really he just talks about how much he doesn't want to give in to the darkness. Really nothing else...

I dunno, personally I really like him but there are some KH characters that are popular yet don't appeal to me that much either. So to each his own I guess

Yeah like, even his voice is melancholy. I only watched the cutscenes for that game but I thought some rookie literally just dubbed over Terra's parts...

i can see why people wouldn't like him but i like him because he's strong, tough and just wants to prove himself and protect his friends. he's essentially a failed riku. and he also reminds me a bit of Squall from ff8. he's certainly not my favorite but i still like him nonetheless

Eh, he was never my favorite, either, but at least he was being tricked into being 'bad' as opposed to Riku, who was like, 'Bad guys? Neat! I think I'll betray my best friend for them!"

Only thing I don't like when it comes to Terra, is when something happens as far as Darkness is concern, he falls for it...  Overall, Terra is ok in my book.

I know! Ventus and Aqua were really good. But, Terra... he just didn't have any feeliing to his character...

I'm indifferent towards him, personally.I never thought that all that many fans had a super deep love for the guy either. Maybe I'm wrong.I mean, I find him okay. But not that interesting.

 

His situation is very, very sad and depressing, don't get me wrong.

I feel for the guy. He has my condolences. Sucks to be him.

But just his personality by itself didn't really draw me in at all. He's very bland.All I really ever remember about him is that he takes his friend's concerns about him far too personally, and he is severely naive when it comes to the villains.

Well I mean... He was talking to the Disney Villains and Xehanort and look what happen to him when chatting at those bad guys... They tricked him.  

He is a nice character but, like Sora96 said, we have seen better characters!!!

Terra is hot. But, his voice actor wasn't good. Some parts of the game were awkward because of that.

I like him; don't love him but like him.  I could relate to him in a way.  I mean, how many times have you wanted to change something about yourself knowing what the end product should be but not how to do it?  Terra didn't want to give in to darkness.  He wanted to be a defender of light, but he had no idea how to get there.  The people he thought could help him ended up taking advantage of him.  He never found out how to rid himself of his darkness.  It's very tragic and I could really feel for him.

I feel the same. I was indifferent to him most of the way through, and hoping he wouldn't be the walking trope he was the ENTIRE story, but I was wrong. I do believe the pinnacle of his character was in the end when he tried so hard to fight off the darkness, and even killed Eraqus to protect Ventus. He showed his true colors, but in the end, even this was not enough.
