We all know that Kingdom Hearts X has been made cannon, but I wanted to know if you guys are okay with it being cannon? Do you guys mind that it is? I really feel like it's really stupid that it's cannon for quite a few reasons.

 

It really isn't fair to make it cannon, especially since it's a browser game that's Japan only. Plus, it adds brand new elements to the story line so if you haven't been following or playing the game like I have, it's very confusing to figure out what going on in terms of the game and how it affects the KH storyline. I think it's really unfair, especially to KH fans outside of Japan and to the fans who don't even know that KH X even exists.

Yeah, we can just make a Japanese Yahoo account and play the game, but that's so freaking ridiculous. I tried that last year and I busted my but for days trying to figure it out, but between the Japanese language and the overall process of doing this, I just gave up. I don't think KH X should be cannon unless Nomura made Chi available overseas in the form of an actual game, kinda like Coded and Re:Coded.

 

I dunno, what do you guys think? Again, I'm pretty upset at this, especially since KH is already confusing as it is, and with this game added to the storyline it's so unfair to KH fans who are unable to keep up with what's going on in the storyline of KH X. Nomura should've just made it cannon only if he released the game to the rest of the world, or even made a remake of the game and released if world wide like he did with Coded.

The only thing that bugs me is the Disney characters in it being canon and yet they don't age?

 

Hercules aged dramatically from Birth by Sleep to Kingdom Hearts in a decade alone, so how come these other characters like Aladdin, Alice, and Snow White haven't aged in the centuries since the Keyblade War to the present timeline?

 

And for the argument that Princesses of Heart are eternal since there's only seven of them to explain Alice and Snow White, why then did Kairi age from Birth by Sleep to the present timeline while the other Princesses existed the same for centuries?

 

I love Kingdom Hearts, but even I can admit the amount of retcon in this series is getting to be a bit much

 

They gotta decide on a coherent & consistent history, plot, and lore for this saga already

I guess you can say these characters are ......Timeless.

I am 100% OK with it, and I think you're just getting a little too hung up in the moment. Just because the game is Japan exclusive NOW doesn't mean that the story will "never" make it to other fans across seas. Nomura himself said that he wants to find a way to bring the story over to other fans, and it's just pure common sense that added plot elements will have to be explained and become available to EVERYONE if they are crucial to the next game that will have an international release. So really, I don't think there is any precedence in getting so worked up over something that is inevitably going to fix itself. And it's not like the tools to understand the elements aren't available already, those who want to play and see the story can use and follow the resources we have here or just simply watch Everglow's playthroughs. And I doubt this game will never be given to us in some shape or form. The series has always had ways of giving back experiences that others have missed out on. A lot of the fun that went into Kingdom Hearts Mobile was made into a nice distraction in Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, so it stands to reason that Kingdom Hearts X will eventually become fully available to us in a way that suits it. Whether they straight up localize the game for other countries and languages or create some kind of "demi game" within Kingdom Hearts III or some other thing, it will make it to us. Everyone just has to remain patient and have faith in Nomura.

Currently it is being suggested that the Tome of Prophesy has the power to bring worlds back and forth through time. If that is the case, then the worlds we have been seeing in X were just different versions pulled out from the future, sort of creating a separate series of events similar to but different than the ones seen in other games. That would be able to explain why everybody looks the same age and why certain events are repeating themselves in some manner.

Its offically been labeled as canon now? I always thought it was simply "within canon" seeing as its a fairytale version of the keyblade war, if thats how they are going to display what was probably the most badass lore piece in the history of kingdom hearts... For shame nomura, for shame

It's true that the idea of the Fortellers, prophecy and Daybreak Town were cool and were done after a hard work, but the idea of having cards on gameplay again totally ruined the idea (it's true that they used the excuse of using the power of future and such but still not convincing enough). Furthermore,  2D gameplay? I don't think that KH ever had 2D gameplay (except in some Coded gameplays) but in general KH never had full 2D gameplay not in the past and not before KH Chi and having Chi on 2D makes the series return steps behind.We cannot forget the repetitive worlds, although Nomura have mentioned in a past interview that he will choose a worlds that fit on the PC, I didn't see any succeeding choices since most of them were repetitive worlds from past titleS. In addition, when I started seeing Princesses of hearts worlds I kinda saw things fine since they somehow makes since, but when they started having Olympus Coliseum I totally washed my hands from this game, because there is nothing new when it comes to Disney worlds and the biggest problem is that we already had these worlds before and some even more than 6 times! Until when are we going to have the same worlds over and over with new excuse every single title!? They are making these worlds unlikable by the fans the more they appear and that will surely affect KHIII, because some worlds might fit to appear again for their movie sequels (Agrabah) but with such repetitive appearances, the fans will easily get bored of it and stop wishing for it in future titles. 

Even the keyblades, they were bad as if they were fanmade keyblades or even worse. Some of them were poorly designed and others were copies from previous titles, which means that there is nothing felt special about them.

 

The characters design were poor as if they were Mii from Wii/3DS, with full cartoonish ideas, they didn't have any special ideas at all. The idea of the costumes was also stupid because I don't recall we are playing Anima Crossing or Disney Magical World.

I understand the idea of the story, which is cool until now,but everything else doesn't help whatsoever. In my opinion, I think they they should make a remake of it in a console with 3D gameplay and with action RPG instead of cards. (I wish for changing the worlds with new fitting worlds  but that seems to be unlikely since EVEN the remake is unlikely to happen).

Yes and no. No because I stopped caring about the plot ever since days for me, as the plot was really bad and got worse. Yes because some people do care about the plot.

As ruby said, this  game's plot is no diffrence, and it's really dumb.

Also, the gameplay sucks as much(if not more) than the plot. 

I don't mind if chi is cannon because it's not like it's going to affect kingdom hearts 3 right, or is it?
