Since a lot of people are conflicted about the ships of SoRiku and SoKai, maybe Square could implement a dating sim kind of choice and let the players choose who they would prefer Sora to end up with. That way, everyone could be happy. I've seen many instances where people say ,"If *insert ship here* becomes canon I will never play Kingdom Hearts again and I'll throw away my games!!!1!!" So would you guys agree and say that this would be a good option? no hate, please!

I'm going to say yes simply because I want to see how KH's dialog would translate into a dating sim

I wouldn't want the game to be an actual dating sim, but maybe a few ambiguous questions or choices that could build up points and leads to the person that would end up with Sora. If you get more points for Kairi, he would end up with her, and vice versa for Riku. There wouldn't be a straightforward question asking who the player prefers. There could also be a way to avoid getting him into a romantic relationship with either of them and just focus on the main plot.

Even though Kingdom Hearts has a lot of friendship themes but I would love it if Nomura and Disney decided to make Sora and Kairi a couple. But I sadly doubt it.

honestly with how the game is about friendship i do not think any relationship stuff would fit.

In all seriousness, I just can't see it happening. Sure I'd love to see canon Namora, but the dating sim aspect wouldn't fit the game too well imo. Shippers would be happy though.

BUT the idea is interesting. Lol imagine if you could just pair Sora with anyone you want...

Maybe they should just make that dating sim separately... with a variety of SE characters to choose from...

That's a pretty interesting idea. And it's a pretty good way to please the shippers. Not bad, cool idea.

I think a lot of the appeal of all the shipping is in the fact that they're all non-canon, and whatever's between Sora, Riku, Kairi (and of course, Demyx) is purposefully left ambiguous. If they give the player the power to create legit relationships, it would probably end up being a disappointment to most.

I'd prefer it if they didn't because that'd mean they'd be willing to pander to fans for cash; and that'd make me lose some respect for them

This is an interesting idea, I'll say that. As to whether it'll happen or not, it's rather doubtful. About as doubtful as any of the Yaoi Pairings becoming canon.

I wouldn't want that to happen. Beyond Two Souls was bad enough with its ending on making you choose who would be together and I just don't want that in KH. Besides, it's Disney partly, and the guy and the girl usually are the ones who end up together, not the guy and the other guy. I'm not saying it's wrong to be gay, but I am simply saying I don't see it happening in KH when Sora and Kairi already have feelings for each other but don't want to admit to the other person.

Why is romance in Kingdom Hearts such a taboo (not just speaking about you, I've noticed this pattern elsewhere too). I'm asking this purely out of curiosity, not meaning to complain or say your opinion is wrong. ^^ I've just never really understood why people don't like the idea.

I know KH is mainly about friendship, but would romance (not being the main focus) really ruin it all?
