KH3D in HD... is it confirmed?

Posted

I know there's lots of speculation, but has it actually been confirmed? Where?

Nothing has been confirmed yet. :/

Peace!

The end credits showed the cutscenes in HD, and in an interview when asked Nomura said "it would be strange if [it wasn't remade]"

Technically that wasn't HD. And it recapped the entire game which was different to 1.5's.

I fully expect a PlayStation 4 & Xbox One port at some stage though.

Aside from hint in the credits of 2,5.....no announcement has been made yet

Unlike 1.5 there was only one game to look at

They also had KH3's announcement trailer.

Nope not confirmed. Dream Drop Distance is just on 3DS.

yeah, as brief filler

it shows even with the recap they ran out of footage to show

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but if 1.5's credits are any indication to the formula (1.5's credits teased 2.5, 2.5 happened), odds are 3D is due for a remake at some point. There's still plenty of time before KH3 is released, and DDD doesn't require as much work as the other games did. Plus, Nomura did say that he feels that he should do something related to 3D and that it would be strange if nothing was done with it, so at the very least the interest is there. And there's always that "one game a year thing", and unless they straight up say "No, we got to leave it out, it just won't work", then there's open room for speculation as to whether they can work on in simultaneously with KH3 or not. Personally, I don't think the foreplay work is done yet, aside from getting a 3D remix/recap, we also need Chi to be made international, or at least available and understandable in an official manner to English speaking and other fans who DON'T speak Japanese, in some shape or form. The possibilities that they could do for these two titles feel very flexible to me, so long as something is done before KH3, I'll be satisfied.

But anyway, the main point is this: No, nothing has been confirmed yet, but nothing has been denied either. Gotta wait further down the line to see what's up.

of course its going to come out we thought 2.5 was not going to come out so it will come out this year most likely in the Q4 session

Not confiremd just like 2.5 wasnt confirmed at the end of 1.5. So yeah it will come someday. Maybe a dcl way or a theather mode or remake who knows.

Not officially announced, but very likely to happen since it's show during 2.5's credits

What System Would It Be For Other Than A Nintendo 3DS?  Thanks To Reality Shift, I Cannot Think Of Anything Else.

Besides, "Kingdom Hearts 3D:  Dream, Drop, Distance" Is Pretty Much ALREADY In HD To Me!!

It's been hinted at, but no confirmation. I feel like it would be weird having a full-priced remaster with just one game included, but I guess we'll see how it turns out.

There's a certain console that has a touchscreen, just like the 3DS...

Something people haven't mentioned is that on the x[Chi] cards, which had previously debuted newer renders of characters later used in the remasters, have also apparently introduced newer models for DDD. Given that and the 2.5 credits and Nomura's general thinking, it's likely to make an appearance soon.

Wii U has a very large touch screen. I'd say even the PS4's touchpad could be used or to a lesser extent, Xbox's Kinect. I'd prefer it be on PS3 though, so that all of the games are actually available on one system. I think of all the games, KH3D would be the most difficult one to bring to consoles from the 3DS though because some of the stuff on there was clearly designed specifically for that system, training the dream eaters and such would need to be redesigned to work with a controller instead of AR and touch screen.

Anyway, its not confirmed yet. Its all but confirmed, though. I would find it just as strange as Nomura said he would if it doesn't happen at some point before KH3 comes out.

Hope it does, KH3D is probably my favourite in the series for a lot of reasons :)

As everyone here has stated, there has been no confirmation for a Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance HD Remaster, but it'll come at some point.  The year is still young, so there's plenty of time for Nomura to suddenly come up and announce a Remaster for the game!  All we have to do is wait patiently! :3

Yeah, I remember the 2.5 announcement came pretty soon after 1.5, and now there's just a lot of waiting around it seems like to me for an announcement.

My guess is it'll be included when they port 1.5 and 2.5 over which is pretty much confirmed to happen since they're porting X/X-2 HD.
