Kingdom Hearts should be the final game in the franchise.

Posted

Seriously, Kingdom Hearts 3 should be the last game of the franchise. Why? Xehanort. While Sora is the main protagonist and the main center of the franchise, the real focus should be on Xehanort. Without him, none of this would happen. Sora wouldn't be a wielder of a keyblade, Riku wouldn't have been obsessed of leaving the island that eventually be lost into darkness, Aqua and Terra would be keyblade masters while Ventus can live out of his days in peace, Roxas and Xion wouldn't exist, and Braiq would ACTUALLY BEEN A KEYBLADE WIELDER. (Since he been obsess of getting one. But unfortunately, he was dragged into darkness thanks to Xehanort.) And removing him after Kingdom Hearts 3 just doesn't seem right. Xehanort is the reason why this franchise even became a reality. And continuing the franchise or known as series is like removing the reminder of who started this mess in the whole place. Not only that, this series would possibly turn into shit without Xehanort. (Just like DBZ. The series turn into shit after the Freiza saga.) They'll probably replace Xehanort with a stronger or just stupidly smarter villain. -_- How original............

Or even worse, fanservice. Having fanservice is fine, but using fanservice after the series that should have ended by the public view is just wrong. Same goes to Final Fantasy 7. A game that once gained praise and respect for changing the RPG genre forever. But unfortunately, the fanbase demand more out of this one little game that eventually turn into shit by it's fans. Nowadays it's just plain shitty fanservice game that fans keep demanding. (Crisis Core? Shitty unneeded game. Advent children? Just stop this f****** shit.) Hopefully after the remake, the fan can finally shut the **** up and let Cloud finally die in peace.

Back to KH, Xehanort deserves a little more time in the franchise. But not too much time, so Kingdom Hearts wouldn't be like Super Mario. Because the Super Mario became a f****** shitty franchise after the rehashs and unoriginal games. (The 3D Mario games became shit after Sunshine. The 2D games became shit after NSMBWii.) Hopefully, (Final time of repeating hopefully) Super Mario Maker will be the last Mario game for a while. (Maybe 6-10 years?) Back to KH, (again)

I just don't want the franchise turn into shit.......If Xehanort have to disappear after KH3, just end the franchise. Don't let Kingdom Hearts be remembered as the franchise that keep going for money. (Just like Super Mario.)

I don't know, I'd be interested to see how a story in the same universe starring different characters would work out. We only know the Xehanort Saga, we don't know what'll come next. No need to assume the worst. And there's also no need to completely end the franchise; it can be continued without milking it dry like Star Wars. They'll just have to take some distance from the current story.

Also, Crisis Core was sweet, Advent Children was silly but fun watching with friends, and Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are very polished, fun games. Opinions, man :P

they want to milk it, it's the same with FF, just leave the series after that, i am probably gonna leave at kh3, if you feel like they shouldn't then do the same as me

But it won't, Nomura already confirmed that. KH3 will just be the end of the Xehanort saga, after that we'll get a new saga with a new main antagonist. To be honest, Square Enix would be really dumb not to continue Kingdom Hearts, as popular as it is. It's been more then 10 years since a main title was released, but the fans are still waiting, which shows how passionate the Kingdom Hearts fans are.

And I'm actually happy about that fact, because I really wanna know what happens after KH3, with Sora being a Keyblade Master and maybe after Xehanort the era of the Keyblade Wielders will begin, that would be pretty cool.

Kingdom Hearts existed before Xehanort and it will exist after Xehanort, no need to assume the worst scenario here. When Kingdom Hearts 1 was released Xehanort's existence wasn't even planned, but it's still an amazing game, so why can't KH4 or whatever the next title will be called be the same?

(And if the Xehanort saga is the Frieza saga and the next saga turns out to be the Cell saga then I just can say: I'm all in :P. The Cell saga is at least as good as the Frieza saga, maybe even better. Alone the moment when Gohan turned into a SSJ2 was just epic!)

I am baffled by how much patience people have or likely they just forgot until kh3 was revealed, and i am not patient, i was an 8 year old boy when i played the first two games and forgot about it until bbs and ddd then i had hope, oh woe as me because i was such a fool, now i'm 17 and i'm very cynical and critical about my games, a lot of people won't care for the series on ward, they want to finish what they started that's it, that's what i am gonna do.

If you were the creator of one of the most successful game series in the entire world , would you stop making franchises ? I certainly wouldn't .

i would make multiple series, you would certainly get tired of working on one franchise, pretty sure OP just said to end KH not end Tesuya's career

This implying that Nomura doesn't have a good enough reason to keep making games after KHIII. If he didn't, he wouldn't want it to continue. He's obviously got other ideas to implement in the series and we all know there's more Disney franchises that can still be used. I can see Disney, the corporation, trying to squeeze out everything they've got after he's gone but as long as Nomura's involved, I have faith.

I was 9 years old when I first played Kingdom Hearts, now I'm 20, but there was never a moment when I forgot about Kingdom Hearts or was not a fan of it. Kingdom Hearts is the best game franchise I've ever played, with KH2 being my all-time favorite game, and I will be a fan of this series till the very end.

Alright I guess, though people won't have the same view as you, since a lot of people don't have an undying loyalty to square anymore and they just have some bad practices in general, also you're 20!? that's insane

Well, I guess you're right about that, but alone on this site are many people who have such a loyalty. And I don't care so much about Square Enix but about Kingdom Hearts. As long as the series stays as good as it is now, I'm happy.

And what's insane about me being 20?

I'm not expecting the series to be better than how it is now after KH3; what I'll probably do, is get some info from the next game (without getting to spoiled) before I buy it: like if Xehanort has something to do with the following plot, I would probably buy it, if he isn't, then it depends on the fan's opinions and the game mechanics.

By the way, I disagree with your FFVII point of view: it's true that the best FFVII game is the original, but Crisis Core explains Zack's story and makes it easier to understand FFVII's story. Also, as some people have said, Freezer's Saga isn't the best DBZ saga, it's probably Cell's one that's better. Please, take notice that this is my opinion, no need to shout at me if you disagree.

Kingdom Hearts 2 was going to be the end of the series and it did finish at a good note. But, we can see that expanding on it was not a bad idea. It gave us more characters, more background, more depth and another threat (that being Master Xehanort after the threats of both Ansem SOD and Xemnas).

I didn't know this; I've always said that the series should have ended in KH2 (and have 358/2 days to explain who Roxas was) because the following games just mess everything up (and in my opinion, they're not as half as good as KH1 and KH2); I seriously never knew that it was planned to end there.

KH2 should have been the last game in the franchise

I used to feel like the whole idea that the series up to now has been part of the "Xehanort Saga" was a bit forced but I guess that's what happens when you write a story as you go along. As long as they put a decent amount of years between releasing KH3 and KH4 I'll be fine. We've spent a lot of time on this one "saga" so I feel like we're gonna need some downtime in between games.

just insane how much you've waited, and sure maybe on this site but I've put my trust mostly in Atlus, Nintendo, and From Software, while others might not feel the same there a lot trustworthy in quality and don't do shit practices, and you have to care of the company, what if they bankrupt or something? as for me i take SE with a grain of salt now, i wish squaresoft was still up.

I disagree, once KH3 is done there'll be SO much MORE POTENTIAL IT'S INSANE.

Future KH games can stick to Next-gen hardware so that they can reach their full potential. With a new saga more and better characters can be introduced, new concepts, areas and the whole KH universe can be expanded.

We can finally see some new faces in this series. Perhaps other Square Enix properties will be added e.g Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger etc.

We'll probably only have about 3-4 games this time, since we'll most likely be on ps4 and xbox one, square can fit more into each game.

Square can learn from the things they did wrong in this saga and correct them in the next. For example, Nomura can write the entire story at one time so there'll be less continuity errors, retcons and plotholes. Nomura didn't think KH would be such a success so that's why a lot of stuff is retconned and makes little sense.

Basically, the next saga has the potential to be groundbreaking and change the gaming world if Square play their cards right. So yes, there should be 1 more saga.

It really does depend on the story of the next Saga, let alone the ending of this one. Nomura has plans to continue with the story afterwards, and as the director of the franchise I will have a guess that he knows what he is doing.

When you think about it it's actually not that insane. We had a Kingdom Hearts game every year since 2006, and for me BBS and DDD are one the same level as a main title, story and gameplay-wise, so the wait wasn't that hard. Of course it's important that the game company doesn't mess things up, but in my opinion they did everything right with KH so far, so theres no reason for me to worry about its future.

Maybe you should wait and see what they actually do with the series after before you state your judgement. You have absolutely no idea of what villain they'll have after Xehanort. You're just speculating, the next villain could be just as good or better or he could be unoriginal and boring. Who knows? For now we should just be happy Kingdom Hearts III is coming and we should be happy that the series still has a future after that game. I think KH4 will be amazing.

Seriously, Kingdom Hearts 3 should be the last game of the franchise. Why? Xehanort. While Sora is the main protagonist and the main center of the franchise, the real focus should be on Xehanort. Without him, none of this would happen.

But it did happen without Xehanort. It happened for about four games without him, and in each game, a new primary antagonist was introduced with different motivations, different aims, and provided a different story. Although BBS superimposed Xehanort upon everything in the series, it's not unthinkable that after he's gone, something else can easily take over as antagonist.

Nor does it necessarily need to be a DBZ style of arms race to be the most powerful. As CoM showed, a simple yet personal plot can be just as effective, as Marluxia and Larxene probably got more of a reaction out of Sora than many of the other villains.

After Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix could delve into Marvel and Lucasfilm properties!

I have to disagree entirely. Kingdom Hearts after 3 will be just fine, plus, like many of others have said, why stop with such a sucessful franchise. (Also, how did DBZ become terrible after Frieza? I thought it was fantastic still. Also in disagreement about Crisis Core and Advent Children, both were good in their own right imo.)

That sounds just like me. xD

Cheers man  ;)

Crisis Core was a masterpiece you hipster swine

Kingdom Hearts can't be the final game in the franchise, it was the first and we already got sequels to it! lol

Sorry, but KH3 is not the end. It will continuewith Sora being the main protagonist. It probably will be out how to resurrect the true Kingdom Hearts.
