Never did I state just this thread. I am talking about this whole debacle and the reaction has been fierce. Keep in mind I also understand why but let's also be realistic considering the track record regarding how they have treated the fans. This has gone on long enough to know when it's needless to freak out.

 

Exactly, the fans should have known based on past experiences. Like I said though we may be surprised by them.

The trailer from D23 two years ago was released on the last day of D23. Unless SE don't have another trailer prepared for KH3's next public appearance, it is likely that the trailers shown this time will be released. At the earliest, I'd say they could surface on Monday (JST), as that is the day after the last day of D23. Please note that I said "earliest," so we most definitely won't be seeing it before then, but that doesn't mean we'll see it on Japan's Monday. We'll have to wait for official word from SE or Disney.

 

In any case, please note that the KH3 trailer shown this time is really just an enhanced version of the E3 trailer. That is, we hear the entire conversation between young Eraqus and young Xehanort, see new cuts of the battle scenes in Tangled's world rhat was introduced in June, and see some new abilities that Sora and Goofy use, including an FPS mode on the Shooting Ride (image released a few days earlier).

 

The emotional scenes with all of the characters are not in this trailer and are likely event-exclusive.

 

I completely understand fans' frustration, and as someone who propagated the release timing rumor without verifying the information, I apologize for having caused confusion and this frustration.

I'm just gonna hold my tongue for now, but IF they don't release the trailer after D23 is over, then I'd be pretty steamed not because of the false rumour, but more so because they've hyped it up all year only to have little to show for it.

I understand if they showed a new world or character or something like that but it seems like only a few things in the trailer were new.

I'm lost with all of this now ... someone kindly bring with up to speed with this trailer chaos

Even if only a few things were actually new, it is supposedly new footage. I'm all up for more gameplay as long as it's different from the E3 one.

The event was really geared toward the audience (a "premium theater" after all), so it was more about the overall experience than the information being presented. There was an exclusive "Making of KH3" video shown to the audience. We won't be getting that.

SE requested attendees not to share information about the event on social media until after the second group had experienced it for themselves (the restriction was lifted at 5pm JST). Shortly after, Japanese magazine publications Famitsu and Dengeki PlayStation released their articles about the event. At around the same time, a rumor surfaced about these trailers going up on the Internet the next day at 3pm JST. This rumor turned out to be false, and the source appears to be unknown at this time because everyone quoted everyone else.Copyright to KH belongs to Disney, so they decide when footage can be shown.

Of course. The trailers that were shown at the Premium Theatre are capable of being shown, so there isn't any reason to not show them. If however, they decide not to show even after telling us the trailer release date is tbd then I will vent my anger.

I can change that easily for you, but there are children present so my foul mouth is under lock and key for now. Honestly I'm not as disappointed or as sad as I should be, it was an exclusive event. Sure it's pretty shitty, but honestly we should be used to it by now

Punish them? Treat their fanbase better? Good sir, I implore you not to do that. They may have worded things a bit badly but when compared to EA, Konami and Activision, Square Enix and Disney treat their fans like we're bloody Rockstars! It's all a matter of patience. Because it will, will take at least 2 more years for KH3 to be complete and at least 1 year for any news to become far more substantial. Chill, please, I beg of you.

I know that KH3 will take at least two more years. To be honest, I want it to take 2 years because I want it to be good.It's just how they "hyped" this event and now refuse to show the trailer. There is no real excuse for this. It would have been much better if they didn't announced the KH fan event.

Hardly. It was KH13 that hyped that event up.

 

And D23 was barely hyped up either.

 

The fans hyped it up more than anything.

As far as I am concerned, when the series director (Nomura) says in countless interviews "Please look forward to D23" I kind of think that counts as an official statement that people should expect to see more than two screenshots from that event.

I think you may be confused, there is only D23 every two years in both Anaheim and Japan.  Last year, the only KH3 footage that was shown was at the 2.5 launch event.

I still don't understand why people are mad at Disney or Square for not releasing the trailer at that time that was RUMORED!!! for it to be released and this guy is just giving a clarification that they didn't say they where gonna release the trailer at that time and they don't know yet and how you shouldn't trust rumors on the internet without a proper source!

I would hardly call a KH3 trailer with an extended conversation between Eraqus and Xehanort, showcasing of new combat abilities including locking on to multiple enemies and a new Attraction Flow, and a new Nobody, as well as a KH 2.8 trailer with a conversation voicing every member of the Foretellers and a scene showing off Mickey, Riku, and Kairi in U4 talking about Terra, Aqua, and Ven "nothing new".

For the sake of not getting my Jimmies all ruffled too soon, I'm going to hold off until D23 is over. If they have released the trailers by then (like one person said, Japan Monday at earliest), then all is forgiven! But if we end up getting nothing out of this beyond the few crumbs that Famitsu gave us, then I'm sorry, but I gotta vent, it's a healthy thing to do, least I let my frustration affect my actual life. I shall rant only when it is the right time to rant.

And If nothing else KH (as far as info goes) comes out by the end of this year, at least we know that 2.8 is for sure coming out next year. That, i'm sure, will be able to hold us over until KH3. I do admit that I am a bit upset that the new trailers weren't released to the public, but there are plenty of other things I could be doing to occupy my time as I wait.

Well, if the trailer is coming, that's fine. If it don't, that's fine too. 

 

I'm not going to let this petty thing upset me.

There's been no mention of KH appearing at Jump Festa, and even if 2.9 does come out next year, it probably won't be until November at the earliest, given the recent trend.

I honestly don't know what's this video about. The official Square Enix Staff officially said it himself.

"Come on guys you should know better than to trust news reports that don't even have any SOURCES!

 

We never announced that any trailer would be released and in general you should be more cautious about rumours. We also sort of did release an official statement/message."
