Kingdom Hearts III opening theme listed on ASCAP

Yoshirai

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) recently listed on their website a song which goes by the name "Face my Fears", also known as "OPENING THEME (KINGDOM HEARTS 3)". The website also credits Utada Hikaru, Skrillex and Boyd Jason "Poo Bear" as writers.

Both "Chikai" and "Don't Think Twice" are also listed on ASCAP as Kingdom Hearts III's ending themes.

It is also interesting to notice how Skrillex already expressed his interest towards the Kingdom Hearts videogame in the past, but he also shown his appreciation for Utada Hikaru's work on his Twitter handle:

So that means we’re gonna have 2 new songs! :O

I hope Face my Fears made the cut. I saw it so often that songs of other musicians were registered but never released..

It's crazy to think that this whole time we were just hearing the ending theme, I wonder what Face My Fears will be like I'm definitely excited to hear it hopefully soon! I will say I will always love Don't Think Twice!

Maybe it's a remix? Seems weird that they would have two theme songs. Excited anyway.

That's actually exciting news, out of all the songs 'Don't Think Twice' in my opinion is my least favourite. Since it has been a long wait and this is the final game of the DS saga, we need a fast paced song to 'pump' us up for the upcoming adventure. As a closing song DTT serves a purpose, but what Simple and Clean and Sanctuary succeeded in was making you excited for the game and even all these years later, they still deliver on that front. Didn't we have news about a Japanese DJ contributing to KH3 awhile ago too? Perhaps that's the Japanese version and we will have this one as the English one?
