The latest issue of Famitsu Weekly magazine has included an interview with Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts series. While the interview focuses on other Square Enix projects, mostly Dissidia Final Fantasy, Nomura has mentioned that the Kingdom Hearts series will be expanding to smartphones and he has more announcements coming soon. In addition development is progressing well for Kingdom Hearts III and they will be able to reveal more soon.

Tetsuya Nomura interview. "(about KH) There are interesting things being planned. There'll be various things, I think, like information on KH3. KH3 development is coming along well, but I also have other new announcements connected to that. what if Fragmented Keys got cancelled because SE Japan popped up and decided to show Disney how it was done?

 

anyway, my Android phone is ready, if whatever this is is coming to it. hope it's not iOS-exclusive, it's not the first time one of SE's mobile games has been like that

 

i'll switch to apple if that's the case though

    This is exactly what I wanted. This was on my wish list day one. Kingdom Hearts III on PS4? Pfft, screw that. I wanna play the next Kingdom Hearts on a 7 inch smartphone.

    It's fine... just localize it. People can deal as they will, but bring it to different languages. That's all you need.

    I hope there are some love for the android. My only problem is the use of data (data usage)... I would have to play the game at a really slow pace.

    As long as it doesn't end up like all the other mobile games where you have a set amount of points, then once you use it all up, you have to wait a certain amount of time. Damn money grabbing games.

    I'll probably still play it even if that's the case, as long as it's fun.

    Hmm, well this is interesting!  I can't say that I'm upset about the series expanding onto smartphones, so I'll just reserve my judgement until we have a Kingdom Hearts app at the ready!  Then again, I just love everything Kingdom Hearts, so I'll love whatever Square cooks up! xD  Good God, I need more information on Kingdom Hearts III! D:
