  1. So I want to know, what is the hardest song for you to get a Full Chain in? Whether you haven't gotten the Full Chain yet or it took you a long time and several plays of. For me I can't seem to Full Chain Wave Of Darkness I on Proud, I barely managed to get it on Standard. And it's always the same part of the song that screws me up. What about you guys?

  8. Masanobu Suzui, the co-director of Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, sat down with Square Enix and decided to "dig a little deeper" into one of the tracks that he worked on-- the song "Hand In Hand", a reoccurring battle soundtrack for the game series. The first step in the process was choosing the track to begin with! The second step that Suzui talks about is cutting the song down-- some tracks of the game are quite long, and they had to figure out what part of the song they wanted to use for the gameplay. Suzui then explains how a document is then made, which concerns how they want the stage to look while it's being played. This includes what they want to show from Traverse Town, such as Cid's shop, the hotel, the item shop, and the Lady and the Tramp fountain. Afterwards, the enemies are chosen. When everything has been picked and chosen, a single team member is asked to create the note sequence. Suzui explains that the team member had to listen to "Hand In Hand" a numerous amount of times to create what Suzui calls an "overarching concept for the stage - normal at the beginning, followed by some difficulty spikes around the middle and end of the track.". After that, Suzui explains that it's then time to revise and edits to the soundtrack and the stage itself. It doesn't stop there by just revising and then sending the stage off to production. They must test the stage over and over again to make sure that it's perfect for playability. Suzui concludes the blog by saying: You can check out the full article on the Square Enix Blog. 10. This was one of my projects since last year, restoring this cutscene track from MoM, particularly due to that gorgeous incorporation of Nachtflugel near the end. Much like when i did it to the Master of Master's theme, this isn't really ripped, as much as it is completley recreated from scratch! I hope you guys enjoy listening to it without dialougue and sparky sounds all over.
  11. I'm quite late, but I just finished MoM. While I appreciate the recap and enjoyed the minigames, I can't say I wasn't a tad bit disappointed. This game was very much hyped to be a Kairi game (box art, the narrator, etc.) but she wasn't even in any parties. She does one fight -- where she's transformed into Sora so you don't even get to actually be her.I did a slight rewrite (if you can even call it that? less of a rewrite more of a what if MoM was a full fledged side game). Kairi, feeling responsible for Sora's fate & driven by her love for him, sets out on a journey to - hopefully - bring him home. She travels various Disney world’s searching for clues to Sora’s whereabouts, growing in strength & skill along the way, eventually unlocking her deep, hidden memories. There would be 11 worlds and it mainly keeps the actual ending of Melody of Memory, except Kairi and Riku both go in the portal. It's here if you'd like to read it! Hope you enjoy it and I'd appreciate feedback.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1H93uiCBS4uMz1z_D3AqOH5nNImfUZSd7/view?usp=sharing
  12. I’m curious if you could pick any songs to add into Melody of Memory what songs would you choose? as much as I would like to add every song that wasn’t in the game, I’m only going to pick a few which would be: Face My Fears Sora’s Sacrifice ( I know it could be counted as another version of Simple and Clean but it still considered it’s own song) Hearts as One ( Again I know it’s just the Other Promise and Vector To The Heavens combined and both are already in the game but once again it still counts) What songs would everyone else pick?
  13. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory Co-director, Masanobu Suzui, recently sat down with Square Enix to discuss the highlights and challenges of making the rhythm action game, including track selection, gameplay, stage building, visuals, and difficulty. Suzui described track selection as being a particularly tricky challenge due to the massive amount of tracks within the Kingdom Hearts Series, the technical and emotional considerations, and the tempo and beats of certain tracks as well. After defining the tracklist, Suzui discussed the process behind ensuring the gameplay elements felt fun, engaging, and true to the Kingdom Hearts series, with the goal of recreating the same memories and feelings from previous entries. On building out stages, Suzui commented that the team had to test the game multiple times to ensure that all elements, and information presented on screen including the camera positioning, enemy positioning, and background models were just right. Suzui also commented on presenting the visuals of the game in a way that was not overwhelming to the player, including choosing how far in advance enemies should appear, visual cues for letting the player know when to hit the right beat, and keeping to the visual style of the Kingdom Hearts series. Suzui describes timing as being an element that could make or break the game. With each stage being custom built, the timing for each stage would vary depending on the track. On the game's various difficulty levels Suzui shared that Proud Mode was the difficulty that underwent the most iterations to ensure the note sequences, and enemy placements were challenging but still straightforward to the player and synchornized with the particular track. Lastly Suzui closed off by saying: You can read the full article on the Square Enix Blog. What are your thoughts on these details behind the making of Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory? 15. Hey everyone! It's been a while since the previous episodes, but I was fighting to release the best result against all odds haha. This one was really fun to record and Bio and Aeba were amazing guests! In this episode we go a bit off-rails and talk more about the game side of melody of Memory, and rather than just talking about the new music in it, we focused on talking about how the music-gameplay was handled and our thoughts on the game as a whole. I hopey ou enjoy it! Below is a trailer for the episode to pique your interest, and then the episode itself (Also, just in case this gets shared on twitter: I'd prefer if it got tagged with @GlassOstinato , which is my account for Sound Ideas stuff uwu)
  16. When Yen Sid was suggesting that Mickey should try and find the ancient Keyblade masters that had crossed over to another world and ask for their help, I’m a bit confused on who exactly they were talking about? As I can only think of two possibilities but neither seem likely. I thought they might be referring to The Union Leaders but none of them were masters. I also thought it might be the Foretellers but given the fact they are most likely going to be working for the Master of Masters I don’t think they would help Mickey. If anyone knows the answer it would really help as I’m kind of confused about the whole thing.

  20. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory has been updated to version 1.03! This update is 82.51 megabytes large on PlayStation 4. The update notes simply state that "Various issues have been fixed" which is identical to the update notes for version 1.01. While it is always nice to see a Kingdom Hearts title get updated, the lack of specifications for this update leave much to be desired. Online functionality remains identical with no way to choose specific players to play against much to many players' dismay. Hopefully Square Enix will implement the highly requested online improvements that players have been hoping for. View full article
