    still pretty sad though. I don't think I ever felt so sad in a certain video game ending. The is certainly A LOT darker than the kingdom hearts games combined.

    Well, the sadness of the endings doesn't really equate to the game being dark in my mind. But ToX2 still is pretty dark, what with its plot points and some of its thematic questions. Like, I'd say the bad ending is pretty dark xDx And kinda the chapter with Alt. Milla and definitely Chapter 12.

    *Spoilers* I agree. I mean, if there was a choice in the game to save both fractured millia and prime millia I bet a lot of people would have picked it. I mean fractured millia KNEW she was going to die soon. It's just wow. I feel really bad for that millia.

    Yeah, Alt. Milla's story was pretty sad. Her dimension was destroyed (and then there's the whole thing about destroying dimensions and effectively killing everyone in them) and she basically felt like a foreign entity in the prime dimension, which was partially due to the old cast members' relations with the prime Milla. But DAMN, that part in... whichever chapter that was was intense. And it's also why everyone hated Rideaux until the end xD

    lol, I don't know if he deserved to die in the way he did. Gaius or whoever spared him, and then they revealed that Rideaux's life was pretty hard and he was being used for a lot of the game.

    And that's another thing that I like about the game: the antagonists aren't (usually) necessarily evil, and some of the stuff the protags do isn't always so good either.

    I was looking at more on Ludger's perspective on this and if Rideaux is being used and had a hard life, I guess there could be some reasoning why he shouldn't have died that way.

    They were only doing that so that the prime dimension can be safe basically saying they were doing something bad for a good cause.

    yeah, but they knew what they had to do. They also felt bad for the people even though they were fractured versions of them.

    One could also argue that it was more for self-preserving, like with the alternate protags running around destroying other dimensions while thinking that theirs was the prime dimension. (Granted, the main dimension actually is the prime one, but it's still protecting their own dimension at the expense of others.)

    All caught up to the Half Life series, outside of the expansions that HL1 got. The ending of episode 2... That was easily one of the most well-handled game endings I've seen... I don't even know what to say about it.

    Also, would definitely recommend Opposing Force, it's a great expansion with tons of awesome new weapons and enemies. (Plus, it had a main character named Shepard coincidentally 8 years before Mass Effect.)

    Oh, I've got both Opposing Force and Blue Shift. I just never got around to finishing them. I definitely plan to do that soon, but I want to finish playing through Black Mesa first so I can get the proper setting for the expansions again. It's been a long time since I last played HL1.

    Oh good, both Opposing Force and Blue Shift are rad (Opposing Force significantly more so because it actually has new content, while Blue Shift just kinda copies all the weapons and enemy types from HL1, though it's still worth it if only because of the fat balding Canadian security guards).

     

    And good luck with the whiplash of going from Black Mesa back to late 90s shooter games. Those polygons'll mess you up something fierce.

    Yeah, I've heard that OF is considered the best of the two. I still think it'd be fun to see Barney's whole story, and it's Half Life, so you can't really go wrong with that.

     

    It's going to be a weird transition, but it shouldn't be too bad. xD

    That, or kicking my computer to the curb and getting a new one *sigh*. I think it's too old to handle the new download for it, which is a shame. It can't handle the new Java, so it's entirely possible. Really, though, it's quite fine, and I thank you for your positive outlook! : ) The game really was amazing a few years back, wasn't it? I had so much fun playing on there for hours with friends.
