Call me a SJW if you like, but I think the way Kingdom Hearts uses darker skin tone to represent evil/darkness is very inappropriate.
PrinceNoctis repliedThat doesn’t justify anything. People of any skin color can be good or bad. By making their antagonists “darker” in skin tone, Square is unintentionally (I hope) reinforcing negative views of darker skinned people.
Alicia Maddox repliedBy that same logic, you can make the argument that the shadow and neo heartless, being all black, encourages ppl to kill black ppl. And I'm not lying, that is a legit argument I've heard some morons use to hate on the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
PrinceNoctis repliedNo, that’s totally different. Shadows and Neo Heartless are not people. They don’t look human. Ansem, Xemnas, DiZ and Terranort do. I don’t see how you guys can defend this. It just isn’t right. For centuries darker people have been vilified and demonized because of their skin color and even if it’s not intentional, Kingdom Hearts is perpetuating that ideology.

Alicia Maddox repliedSimple. If you feel that the KH franchise is promoting discrimination, or does not align with your values, then don't play it, don't support it. The same reason why I won't play TLOU2. Loved the first game, but not interested in the sequel.
PrinceNoctis repliedI grew up playing Kingdom Hearts, it’s important to me and pointing out that I have issues with some of its elements doesn’t mean I should stop playing. It’s not a black and white situation (no pun intended lol). I know that Japanese people aren’t as racially conscious as North Americans. They don’t share the same history as us and they’re from a very homogeneous country so stuff like this is bound to happen. I’m just pointing out a problem.

TheWayToDawn repliedHonestly, I feel it would be rather lazy if they didn't give him a wardrobe change. Unless it will play into his roll. But I still feel like Lea deserves more than an old coat.

Man so much Smash bros news. And Ridley's playable this time around. That's interesting. Though I am disappointed that we didn't get any news on Metroid Prime 4. Was hoping Nintendo would reveal more information on that game. But oh well, Nintendo's E3 conference was still pretty good.

I just learned about Luxord's role in KH3. On the plus side, yay! On the minus side, seeing him 'Norted is depressing because he was one of the more-sympathetic original members.
Nick Sideris repliedTo me, Luxord was one of the most interesting characters in the game. Everything he said was pretty much a reference to card games and luck and I absolutely loved it. I was hoping he would be on the clear, not necessarily a good guy but definitely not a Seeker. But the fact that he's the one looking for MoM's box makes his character even more interesting. I really hope we see a confrontation between him and Maleficent/Pete since they are also looking for the box.

Really bummed that Hayden Panettiere wasn't even asked to reprise her role as Kairi in KH3. I love Alyson Stoner don't get me wrong but Kairi is Hayden's role and has been since the first installment. Just doesn't seem fair.
Merilly repliedUnderstandable. They could have at least asked her, though at the same time, her life has not been easy during periods of the last few years. We don't know why they didn't even bother to ask her but this may have played a part. I'm not going to assume anything but it feels like a lot of effort to cast someone new if the old VA wasn't even requested.
itsDON repliedYeah I agree its honestly just the whole not even asking her part that bothers me. I'm sure she would have said yes to returning so it sucks. Aw I guess I'll just have to take what they give us at least Alyson Stoner does a better job sounding like KH2 Kairi in the little snippet we heard. The laugh was definitely a Hayden laugh.

In the latest trailer when Xigbar said that Sora will see what destiny has in store for Sora and his reward could be right around the corner then bam the next scene is Kairi showing up they meant to do this don't you dare tell me other wise!!
