The new stuff about FFX just got more and more absurd...why doesn't Square Enix just let Tidus and Yuna 'live happily ever after'... FFX was gold to me when I was younger - Stop milking the franchise, otherwise you will kill the series!

I used to have heaps of respect for "square soft" for the original elements that they put into their games, KH was really good when it first came out and so was FFX. Now it just feels that every other game made by "Square Enix" is laden with fan-service as a way to reel in the $$$. Before long we will expect ExDeath's return in FFV-2, or somehow Ultimecia makes a split timeline in FFVIII-2...or something ridiculous along the lines of that. Square Enix should focus on making good and decent original games (unlike some titles *cough* bravely default *cough* with that said BD was a good game).
catmaster0116 repliedI personally think TWEWY was an interesting and decent attempt at making an original game for it introduced a totally different yet original context and characters with a unique battle mechanic which would be reused as deck commands later in KHBBS and beyond.

Im not bashing Bravely Default - BD was a very good game too, I loved the music from the series - but I feel it borrowed too many elements from the FF series imo ~ I also believe they had to do that so as to grab and transition old-school FF players into liking the series too.
Dio Brando repliedNot really,first off,Bravely Default was made by the same staff who made FF The Four Heroes of Light on the DS.Bravely Default is kinda a spiritual successor to it and it's also a love letter to old school Final Fantasy fans.Borrowing elements from FF isn't a bad thing,in fact I consider it the best FF game we've got since 2003.Borrowing what made FF so great is a good move,but rehashing certain FF games and make unnecessary sequels for them (X and XIII and some of the VII games)...
