One of my favorite things in 2.8 is probably going to be visiting the worlds of Dream Drop Distance in HD! Like I really enjoy the movies the worlds are based on, and getting to see them in HD will be great, from La Cité des Cloches to the Country of the Musketeers! The worlds are something that made Dream Drop Distance enjoyable!
WakingDawn96 repliedI am not very technological when it comes to fps and frame rate, so yeah just as long as it runs great and is in HD then I am fine with this. Not to say I don't like non HD though.
TheKingdomkid repliedThat's what I'm looking forward to and another reason I'm playing Dream Drop Distance first (another reason is for LP reason) but yeah Dream Drop Distance did have a lot of my favorite worlds and getting to go to those worlds on my TV is great

Playing Final Fantasy I. Should I get a White Mage and Black Mage and sacrifice Warrior or invest in Red Mage? The rest of my team is Theif and Monk.
Shulk repliedYou definitely need a Warrior, especially if it's your first time playing. The other classes can deal a lot of damage, but they can't take a whole lot, so the Warrior's great as a tank. Red Mage is a good all-around character, but he can't learn some higher-level spells on either end of the spectrum. I'd say go with a Warrior and either a White Mage or a Red Mage for your fourth member. Thief isn't horrible, but he's probably going to be tough to use until you get...
Clouded Sun repliedYeah, I hear Theif is hard till I class to Ninja. And Monk is pretty OP. Thanks!
Shulk repliedto a certain point in the game. Also, just to let you know, the order your characters are in determines how likely they are to be targeted. Top slot will get attacked the most, so put a more defensive character there. The second slot is less likely, and the bottom two have fairly low chances. I can look up the exact percentages if you want to know them.
Clouded Sun repliedAhh, good to know. I'll put my Warrior and... Monk? in the top two slots.
Shulk repliedOkay, so you know about the class upgrades already.
Yeah, Thief is tough to use but good for escaping from battles. The Ninja's a lot better, although I can't speak much from personal experience there. The Ninja does learn some lower-level Black Magic spells, although nothing that's really helpful by that point in the game.Shulk repliedIf you want a good balance of the spells, Red Mage is still a really good choice, just keep in mind that you won't get the higher level spells on him.
Yeah, that's a good way to organize the slots. If you use a Red Mage, that's also a good character to put in the second slot from what I remember. You can also change the order at any time in-game if you want to.
Clouded Sun replied@Joker

@Dave T^T But I love my Ninja.
@Shulk good to know. Is Ninja actually any good?
Shulk repliedThat being said, Dave's suggestion is also a really good party for a first playthrough of the game. Warrior/Monk/White Mage/Black Mage is a really balanced team that can help you learn the mechanics, then other setups are easier to run when you've played through with that first team. It's all up to you, though.
Shulk repliedI'm actually doing my first playthrough with Thief/Ninja right now, so I can't really give a definitive answer there.
It's helped me get away from tough battles though, so that's a positive side of using one. I don't know what version of the game you're playing, but if it's the NES one in particular, an easy method of escape helps a lot. It has a higher chance of running away in battles.Shulk repliedOh, okay. From what I remember, that's based off of the GBA/PSP version of the game, so it won't be nearly as tough as the NES version.
As much as I love the NES version, I can understand starting off with a different version because the original is really unforgiving. I don't know that running from battles is something you'll be doing as often in the mobile version, but having an easy escape still helps.Clouded Sun repliedI never knew there was a difficulty difference
I never played the original.Clouded Sun repliedIs that all Ninja is really useful for? That'd be a bummer - I love the class.
Shulk repliedThere's a huge difference.
The original came out before a lot of the established mechanics were... well, established. For example, there wasn't an MP system, but instead, each level of spells had a certain amount of spell charges you were allowed. If you had 3 spell charges for level 2 spells, you could only cast those spells 3 times before having to go to the inn to reset your charges. Characters gained more charges as they leveled up, but you still had to be really careful with h...Shulk repliedhow you used them. There were also a few really big difficulty spikes, and it feels like the enemies hit harder in the original. Items were also tougher to get, and there weren't items like Ethers or Phoenix Downs yet. Some spells also didn't work as intended, so that meant that some that would be useful just did nothing at all (Although one spell ended up being better than it was intended to be
).Shulk repliedThe Ninja is still a decent offensive class judging from my current playthrough, and the low level Black Magic can still help in the right situations, but the Ninja in FFI wasn't really as good as it is in later games sadly.
Yeah, you had to be really careful to not waste any spell charges or items. It's tough, but it feels really rewarding when you get through a tough dungeon.
Clouded Sun repliedGuess I'll try it after this one if I like it. Are there differences in II, III, and IV?
Shulk repliedYeah, I'd recommend giving it a shot if you like the first game. It's really tough, but still a lot of fun. It's nice to see where the series started off, too.
I can't speak much for II and III since I've never played the original versions (Those never got official English releases sadly, and I still need to play through III anyway), but IV has a few different "groups" of remakes that have their own differences from the original.
Shulk repliedThat seems to be what most people I know are looking at when it comes to getting FFIV.
The DS remake's great, although it is typically considered to be the toughest version of the game. It's been a while since I played through it, but I know that it has a higher encounter rate. It does add some cool new sidequests and these things called Augments that let you give your characters new commands in battle, though. As long as you're fine with the increased difficulty, the DS versio...Clouded Sun repliedOh I don't mind difficulty at all!
The only classics from the NES/SNES that I actually played was VI, and that's been a really long time ago. I plan to replay everything up to VII again, and I beat IX just last year, replayed X, and am gonna get XII in a couple months.
Shulk repliedAlright, then yeah, I'd say go with the DS version!
I've been kind of thinking about going through them in order lately (At least the ones I have), but I don't know if I'd have the time.
I really want to get around to playing through at least the first VII soon (I've already played through I, II, IV, and VI, so I've at least played through most of those once), and I've had IX downloaded on my PS3 for a long time. -
Ay! Thanks for the friend request dude.

Mass shooting at Ft Lauderdale airport- so far 5 dead 8 more injured. This is down the road from where I live.
HarLea Quinn repliedI'm fine - but observing the mass chaos at this point. I heard all the sirens and didn't know it was from that.
WakelessDream repliedThat's so scary especially being so close by, I'm glad you're safe Lea.
Geralt repliedI'm seeing reports that he's still alive and in custody though?
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/reports-multiple-people-shot-ft-lauderdale-airport-44602684
HarLea Quinn repliedHe was in police custody still alive last i heard - unless he just died? He was shot. This is close but not too close to where it was my backyard or something. Still like wtf.
Kaneki Ken repliedWhat. . . I didn't know you live in that area. I happen to be in Orlando. . . Florida just can't seem to get a break ;_;
Glad to hear you're alright.
HarLea Quinn replied@ Kaneki. I just want to know why
Yes Florida has taken quite a hit lately. Glad to hear you are also ok. Orlando shooting was so sad
Kaneki Ken repliedIt definitely was a tragedy. I'm quite curious about this shooter's motive. He's possibly Cuban from what I hear on Reddit.

Am I the only one who won't give a crap about 3D when 2.8 comes out? I sure hope I'm not the only one
TheKeyofRose repliedI am to an extent I want to see anything new added but at the same time I am really like oh DDD cool. I got 0.2 and UXBC that and 1.5+2.5 will allow me to play much better games at 60 fps
KingdomHearts3 repliedI am okay about HD3D too. I could care less if I realize I never played it. I am just concerned with 0.2 and XBC.
Weedanort repliedThe first thing I'll do is watch the cutscenes of Back Cover, and then play 0.2.
0.2 is the part I'm more interested in, although I'm not a big fan of the customizable features of Aqua (Says the TF2 player
)The reason I'm not interested in 3D at all is that it doesn't sparkle my interest. I've seen the cutscenes of the game, and I know the story of the game, and the gameplay really doesn't appeal to me.

I hate this feeling... it sucks being in love with a woman who is already engaged to someone else. Perfect match, of course, but by the time we had met they were already very close to each other, so meh...
and then asking friends to help you get to know people, and your friends tell you that it's better for me to just accept that these people don't want to talk with me. Yeah, that's fair. The only person who wants me wants someone else more...
